@adamschefter 38m38 minutes ago If Seahawks lost to Panthers, Jets were prepared to fly to Seattle last night to try to hire Dan Quinn as their head coach, per sources.
There's no doubt that Quinn is our guy, even if we have to wait until February to make it official.

Good to hear, hopefully if they have some sort of handshake agreement in place that it is a firm one. Would hate to get burned at the last minute and scramble for the remaing scraps.

I was having the thought that if Seattle lost ,It was a done deal already that jets would be announcing Quinn has our new HC..

With no one but Buffalo hiring a HC it looks like there is going to be a line outside Quinn's door.

If Schefter said that they were going to flatout hire him, then that implies that the Jets and Quinn have already come to an agreement. Pretty sure that would be tampering Quinn is going to be the HC. The guy can see Metlife from his backyard in Morristown and there were already reports that Quinn has told close friends that the Jets are his #1 choice.

Of the guys out there, Quinn is my fav. of the bunch. I wouldn't mind Kubiak, and I can't say I know enough about Bowles.

Has there ever been a case where a candidate and a team announce he will be the coach and he continues to finish the season for his other team?

I'm not sure, but the current policies are that you can not officially hire a candidate until they are done with their current responsibilities. I'm sure you can heave a deal in place, but can not announce the hire.

Fucking Carolina could've pulled it off, but Newton choked as usual.

Don't need the distractions and second-guessing is that candidate's unit performs poorly.
