Hire or hire not. There is no try.

Anybody see any possibility that this somehow gets fucked up and Dan Quinn is sniped out from under Woody's nose by a team like San Fran or Chicago?
Is Antoine Winfield a Jet? Did the Jets let him leave the building without signing his deal? Why is there a plane waiting at Teterboro airport to take him to Minnesota? Why was his cellphone buzzing during his meeting with the Jets? Why? WHY?

How about Kubiak with Dick Lebeau as DC? Sounds like a pipedream my favorite kind....

So the game of musical chairs continues.....Jets fire Rex, Marrone leaves Buffalo, Buffalo hires Rex, Jets interview Marrone, Quinn continues to be off limits, teams start hiring coaches like Bowles, Kubiak, etc. Super Bowl ends, Quinn stays in his division like Rex did by coaching San Francisco, Jets still standing with no chairs left as music stops. Doug Marrone comes in for 2nd interview. Jets fans stab themselves in the eye as Marrone is hired on day of Patriots victory parade in Boston. Rex Ryan (Buffalo), Bill Belicheck (New England), Mike Tannenbaum (Miami) walk into a bar and all at the same time say, "Hey, how bout them Jets?"

@jasonlacanfora 1m1 minute ago
At this point would not be surprised to see Quinn to NY, Bowles to ATL, Kubiak or M. Shanahan to CHI, Del Rio or Sparano to OAK

Rex walks to a team with no QB and people act like the world is ending It's ridiculous How simply having a likable personality has duped so many into totally overlooking his shortcomings as a HC is fucking baffling.

So fuck that guy. Hopefully we can trade some of our fuckin scrubs like Kyle Burnt Toast Wilson and terminator to them for something useful.

Woody is too shrewd to let something like that ever happen on his watch.

The only thing i dont like about this is that it says try to hire!! I was having the thought that if Seattle lost ,It was a done deal already that jets would be announcing Quinn has our new HC.. If Schefter said that they were going to flatout hire him, then that implies that the Jets and Quinn have already come to an agreement. Pretty sure that would be tampering Quinn is going to be the HC. The guy can see Metlife from his backyard in Morristown and there were already reports that Quinn has told close friends that the Jets are his #1 choice. How would that be tampering, the Jets interviewed Quinn, he will undoubtedly be a head coach next year, what could possibly be tampering?

It's pretty dumb and makes very little sense but apparently it is tamperings, someone explained it the other day.

How could a team request and get permission to interview a coach, and then gear up to hire that coach, and be called for tampering? How would the tampering be charged and by who? Seattle? That just makes no sense!
