Now that I have come down from my day 1 giddiness, I am looking at targets for days 2 and 3.
Edge-rusher, OL or DL would be my priorities. We should get a good guy at these positions in both the 3rd and 4th rounds, maybe even into the 5th.
A few targets (at all positions):
Mike Gesicki, TE
Ronald Jones, TB
DJ Chark, WR
Orlando Brown, OT
Harrison Phillips, DL
Braden Smith, OG
Lorenzo Carter, Edge
Josh Sweat, Edge
Kemeko Turay, Edge
James Washington, WR
Arden Key, Edge
Ian Thomas, TE
Ogbonnia Okoronkwo, Edge
Da'Shawn Hand, DL
Shaquem Griffin, LB
BJ Hill, DL
Nyheim Hines, RB
Foley Fatukasi, DL
Uchenna Nwosu, Edge
Geron Christian, OT
Mark Walton, RB
Dorance Armstrong, Edge
Hercules Mata'afa. Edge
RJ McItosh, DL
Bilal Nichols, DL
Andrew Brown, DL
Jamarco Jones, OL

We should be absolutely giddy that we got Darnold at 3 - and without giving up next year's #1 pick.
This is the guy who, last year, we were planning on going 0-16 to get or trading multiple 1st rounders for.
Yes, last year was not as good as anticipated for a whole host of reasons - loss of important players on O, scheme change, Darnold himself trying too hard and creating turnovers.
But the talent is clearly still upper tier. This guy elevates his team, he's a leader and a winner.
The price to be able to move up to get him (plus a valuable WR in Jermaine Kearse) was a year of Sheldon Richardson, plus two #2 picks. That could prove the greatest steal of all time.
And god bless the Giants for still believing in Eli and the running game.

Rosen is an atheist, but his father is Jewish, for what that's worth. Religion aside, I'd like to draft Rosen simply because it's easiest to see him become a top-five quarterback in the league than it is to see Mayfield do that, assuming that reports are true and those are the two guys we're debating between. I'd be happy with Darnold, too. But, if Darnold is off the board when we draft, and our choice is between Rosen and Mayfield, if we take the 6-foot guy who played in a gimmick offense who doesn't have as good a throwing arm as Rosen, all I'd be able to say is, "Oy vey." Mayfield doesn't have as good an arm as Rosen? Rosen has the weakest arm of the big 4. Not saying it's terrible, but the other 3 guys - including Mayfield - have stronger arms than Rosen.

The Jets are drafting a town in Nottinghamshire at 3? A bold choice. in a surprise move, Macc yells out "TITS!" in the warroom, and then chooses Jayne Mansfield. I like his thinking.

For me, I think it's more the combo of the concussions, plus the shoulder injury, that is the concern with Rosen. He's not mobile and he may get hurt a lot in the NFL if he's not behind a great line. Mayfield just seems more solidly built for his size, and more able to avoid big hits with his mobility in the pocket. Mayfield had two concussions in less than two months. I'm not denying that. Any QB could get concussed, at any time. Mayfield has had two, others will also have had them. It's the body type/mobility thing that worries me most with Rosen. A non-mobile QB, with past shoulder issues (and those concussions) behind the Jets' line could be problematic.

For example, I have been so against Rosen, not because of his lack of skill, but because of his injury factor and especially the concussion issue. Mayfield has also had multiple concussions, so I'm not sure why everyone will bring up the fact that Rosen has had concussions and leave Mayfield off the list. Wanted Adams, got him. Wanted Lee, got him.
Wanted Leo (not pre-draft, but certainly when he was on the board at 6 and the alternative was Kevin White).
Other times that spring to mind: Marvin Jones, Aaron Glenn.
My best all time prediction: Chansi Stuckey in the 7th round (called for that one as the 6th round drew to a close that year).
Worst predictions that came true: Derrick Strait falling to us in the 3rd, Jets picking Hack at #51 two draft ago.
