Matt Nagy is the new name. I actually like his background, but now I have to root for the Steelers to beat the Chiefs and I hate the Steelers. I can't help but feel that we're "Searching" while other teams simply had to put a hiring sign on the front door.

Geez... dunno. That's a tough one. I wanna say I'd follow the franchise to wherever they roam. But i can also see the passion fading if it's no the NEW YORK Jets. I was a Browns fan (family team) until they folded and became a Jets fan. Never looked back. That might be a catalyst to do so.

I think we're all on the same page in recognizing the talent those 2 running backs represent. Both as playmakers and as needed additions to our deprived roster. They're clearly the top choices
That said, if Macc took Williams instead and chose to take advantage of the draft depth at RB with a different back later, I'd be immediately at peace with the decision.
No back + No Williams?.... I'd be reaching for my torch.

1-Cook (obvious reasons) 2-Fournette (ditto) 3-Mike Williams, because we if we're serious about rebuilding, the answer is not to continue buying wideouts Can't argue with your top 3 -- I have just recently come around on Williams as one of my top choices. MOnday night sealed it for me. It would be like having 2015's version of Brandon Marshall at age 22 on a rookie contract. Sign me up. I remember when this forum open, I had Mike Williams as my avatar until Lynch-gate.... I can't believe the time has come, we're in position to take him... and I'm leaning towards a RB. That tells who how much I love those two backs. Or more importantly, how much I think we need one of those 2 backs.

As of Jan 11, this seems like a stretch... well i'm going to go ahead and predict that he inches his way up from #30-40 into the teens after combine, and then right into top 5-8 defenders by April. He may not demonstrate the same power at the point like Barnett, but I think he has better instincts, he plays his role brilliantly, and finishes plays. He's a Pass rusher, and I think he's better than Beasley, Dupree, and others. I keep watching film to find reasons why he will last until the 2nd, and all i see is reasons why he's going to fly up board. #DarkHorse 5-Q. Wilson... best pure CB in the draft. I like the Takk selection ... ballsy ... I know i've been telegraphing my love for him. And honestly, it gets worse everytime i watch his games. Statistically speaking -- there's going to be at least 1 Defensive player right now ranked in that 30-45 range who will be in the 5-15 spectrum come april... I guess I'm saying he's my pick for that ascension.

As far as I'm concerned, the only QB the Jets should pursue this offseason other than a low cost JAG like Hoyer or McGloin is Mike Glennon. A 6'6 230 quarterback with a rocket arm entering his 5th year and has shown plenty of promise in the past. I have no interest at all in guys like Romo, Tyrod, Cutler, Kaepernick, RG III, etc. And I'm not taking a mediocre prospect in the draft like Trubisky, Watson or Kizer over someone like Fournette, Cook, Adams or Hooker. Especially since in all likelihood the Jets are going to suck next year as well and kids like Darnold, Rosen and Falk could all be entering the draft. Refuse to invest the kind of money Glennon would command only to extent our present situation. The answer is not chasing the next Matt Schaub, it's drafting the next Ryan

So far it looks like a slow start for the Jets in searching for their next OC following the "retirement" of Chan Gailey. A few data points... 1. The Jets were denied the ability to interview Eagles QB coach John DeFillipo for their OC position. While this is unfortunate it does seem like a good indication that the Jets are focused on a person with strong QB development chops (DeFillipo is being credited with Carson Wentz's mostly successful rookie year at QB) 2. Today the Raiders confirmed they will not be retaining their OC, Bill Musgrave, despite having the 6th ranked offense in the NFL and a fairly successful season. Part of the reason for letting Musgrave walk seems to be the Raiders fear that their QB coach, Todd Downing, could get swooped up by another team for their OC position. Two NFL teams reportedly inquired about Downing who will now be promoted to the Raiders OC position. We don't know for sure that the Jets are one of the two teams but it seem likely. This would be strike two in simply trying to contact/interview an OC candidate who has had success developing a QB (2nd Round pick Derek Carr). Where do the Jets go next? pretty sure the QB coach they promoted to OC was the real mastermind behind Carr. Musgrave is a JAG Mike McCOy. Anthony Lynn... and for god sakes, can we get Curtis Johnson on this staff already

I bet Sec is having a hell of a time. As he should be. Can you imagine? No team I've ever loved has ever won anything. I dream of the day where I can feel like SEC right now
