Never expected Bellows to step up like he did tonight. Tme for me to stop defending Dal Colle. I like what he brings as a grinding type forward, but at some point, you have to be able to contribute in the offensive zone. Maybe you play him now when the options are Komarov, Czarnick and Johnston. Although I might prefer to see Johnston out there. Last game on an isles board, people were knocking Soro and praising MDC for a good game. I couldn’t believe people were bashing a rookie goalie 8 games in and praising MDC because he backchecks. play along for a second here - close your eyes, and imagine your average NHL forward. Totally average guy. What do you see? A guy 5’10, 185, can skate, pass with authority, back checks, and pots 10-12 goals a season, adds another 12-15 assists? MDC is not even average. He deserves no praise. Defending him is like battered wife syndrome. “He’s a good husband, he lets me eat the toast I burned. But I deserved that beating” /end rant Then add in the fact that he was drafted 7 fucking years ago. |

So, I have the game on while we are eating dinner tonight. Devils score in OT and I turned the game off. Just turned the TV back on. Isles Post Game is on and Butch and Brendan are talking about a win and extending the streak to 9.

Sorokin starts coming up big, Bo extends it, and Wahlstrom buries it on his first SO opportunity. |

offsides by millimeters, literally ZERO impact on the play
replay review technology was supposed to help fix egregious bad calls/missed calls
not put everything in the game under an electron microscope
just some cane shaking here. still taking the win

I couldn’t tell for sure on the replays I saw, so I thought they’d say call on the ice stands, good goal. Maybe my tv aspect ratio is off or some shit, because butchie was like ‘oh you can clearly see offsides here’ and I couldn’t even see the offside dude in the shot

The ruling benefitted us last night, but I hate these reviews where they have to slow it down, frame by frame, and decide that a guy was offside by an inch or two. Replay should be to correct egregious missed calls, not missed offsides by about an inch at the line. |
