Very early this morning I had a vision. Isles win this game on a goal with 10 seconds to go. I will take it however we can get it. We have been completely outplayed the last two in Tampa. Gotta get off to a good start tonight -- we cannot fall behind early. Have to send the message that this will be a tight game all the way. And I really hope Kucherov does not play. Not that I ever root for a guy to be hurt, but the way Tampa played with the cap rules to keep their core together during the regular season, and then adding Kucherov for the playoffs when the cap is no longer in effect. If he can't play tonight, it is karma. Lets Go Islanders!!! |

Still think they need a wing that can score. Imagine if Panarin signed. But then there wouldn’t have been money for a guy or two on the team now.
I also think they need a little infusion of youth. We will never know, but I think putting wahlstrom back in the lineup as soon as he was ready instead of a mostly useless zajac would have been a better move. Look at MTL and caufield. Not that Wally is a caufield, but my point is MTL is doing fine with youth, and Barry could learn a lesson here. Can’t teach an old dog new tricks though.

On the one hand, it is hard to complain after a Game 7 when you don't even score a goal. But I have seen that photo, and it is tough to take a 1-0 loss in Game 7 when the only goal came on a play that never should have counted. The NHL allows replay becuase a guy was an inch or two across the line on a rush that could have a proceeded a goal by a full minute. But when a goal is scored because of an obvious, non-subjective missed call, they don't allow replay for that. Doesn't matter now. But it sucks. |
