She was found in Fire Island and Gilgo beach in '96. The DNA technology was not there yet to identify but it finally caught up. They've known her ID since 2022 but kept it quiet for investigative reasons. Def. fits the profile of his other victims down to being a sex-worker no one bothered to report missing. I dont think this guy will talk now, but down the road he may give up more to gain living condition concessions from whatever prison they finally put his arse in. Def. will be other dumping grounds and bodies found, methinks. if this asshole is the reason why it's so hard to find good looking hookers there well then that fucking fat mongo fuck better hang Sorry for your troubles. It must be difficult.

I still have a feeling former Police James Burke was involved in some of this. He was a depraved perv, (crack-head prostitute girlfriend) had the former D.A. in his corner and feared no one as far as LE was concerned. He was literally above the law..until he wasnt. Sort of like Shakin in Conectitntiuctunt.

It looks to me more like abuse of power than anything else. He didn't want to be the guy who had multiple homicides solved by the FBI on his turf.

Ironically, the thing he actually went to jail for (and is now out) is probably the least of his sins. Dont think we've heard the last of him.

Wifne listened and won't shut up about it. Between her and my sister (about-to-retire NYPD detective), I have to leave the room at family gatherings.

Welp. May have been a sting...but wonder if that "sex-worker" would have ever been seen again had this arrest not happened? www.longislandpress.com/2023/08/22/james-burke-arrest/James Burke, the disgraced former Suffolk County Police Chief who spent 46 months in federal prison for beating a suspect, was arrested by county park rangers in Brookhaven on Tuesday morning. The reason for the arrest and potential charges have not been made public yet, but PIX11 reported that Burke was allegedly soliciting a sex worker at a Vietnam War memorial, which multiple news media outlets corroborated citing anonymous sources. James Burke’s Past Crimes Suffolk police arrested Christopher Loeb in 2012 after Loeb was suspected of stealing a duffel bag from Burke’s car that contained ammunition, sex toys, and pornography. According to prosecutors, Burke beat Loeb at the Fourth Precinct in Hauppauge. Burke resigned in October 2015 amid the controversy, and was charged by a federal prosecutor in December 2015. In February 2016, Burke pleaded guilty and received the 46-month sentence plus three years of supervised release from the late U.S. District Judge Leonard Wexler. During his incarceration, oxycodone was found in his housing area at the federal prison in Allenwood, Pennsylvania — Burke was investigated, but the results were not made public. Burke is known among “true crime enthusiasts” in connection to the Gilgo Beach serial killings, where it has been alleged that Burke blocked FBI investigation. Prior to the arrest of Rex Heuermann, some news outlets had even named Burke himself as potentially responsible for the murders. Burke is the subject of a novel called “Jimmy the King: Murder, Vice, and Reign of a Dirty Cop” which discusses his rise through the ranks and tumultuous tenure as police chief.
