For me it was a no brainer to get the shots. I got Pfizer, and I was very happy to get them. I have kidney disease, thus I’m immuno compromised. COVID, while not a death sentence for most, is a very serious issue for those of us with compromised immune systems. Thus, I wear masks in most public settings, and try to avoid those that I know that are not vaccinated. No problems after the jabs, other than arm soreness for 2 days in both cases. Most family members are vaccinated other than a sister and my niece. Talking to them has been futile. They spout off various conspiracy theories. They point to atrocities that the government has committed with people of color (Tuskegee being the most infamous). So, I’ve made the decision not to visit them, or allow them to visit me for the foreseeable future. (They live in another state).

The problem with that is vaccinated can carry and pass it just like unvaccincated can.

We can get all the shots and post-shot boosters we want. It's a virus and viruses mutate, e.g. the flu, common cold, etc. We will never eradicate it. Thanks China.

True, however the odds of contracting COVID if vaccinated and passing it on are much lower than being unvaccinated.

got J&J...kids got Pfizer...no effect...concerned about booster shot and whether the vaccine has caused to virus to mutate... Interesting. How can a booster cause a virus to mutate when it has already mutated, thus necessitating the need for a booster? Are you suggesting the booster accelerates the mutation process?

I got Moderna. No side effects. Mrs. FF2 got J&J. Same.
Daughter is vaxxed but got Covid. She is a first time mom…so was flipping out over little one possibly getting it but he was neg. same with her husband. I Went to a packed NYC bar dueling piano show last week and Dead & Co. show tonight. I probably shouldn’t but I’m bored as fuck.
Hope everyone stays healthy
I love you guys.

That’s not the vaccine causing mutations. Kinda like antibiotics and continue to take the full weeks worth instead of stopping 4 days in because you feel better. Stopping early gives the bacteria a chance to build resistance instead of fully annihilating it. Perhaps there would be no COVID variants if everyone got vaccinated right when available. Full disclosure: I’m no microbiologist.

Natural immunity is being totally ignored because of politics. Most studies have shown that natural immunity is much better than the vaccine but somehow "we all need to be vaccinated". The messaging has been horrible and is one of the big reasons people are hesitant.

However if natural immunity is better than the vaccine, how have over 623k folks that were unvaccinated died? Because they never had Covid before. You get natural immunity from having the disease. Remember the old days when a kid would get chicken pox a bunch of parents would put them in with that kid so they could get it out of the way while they were young and less apt to have issues. Like that.
