I got moderna back in May. no major issues other than sore arm. Don’t regret it. I am VERY right wing but I’m not an anti vax person. I am not antivax by any means I just don't like that everyone is ignoring people with immunity from having had covid. Seems like there is an ulterior motive. I think you are absolutely right. For me, Im 48, BMI says Im obese (like 90% of America) and have some other medical history where I kinda dont want to risk getting Covid to get immunity that way. I know a few younger and healthier people than me who got it real bad with lingering symptoms. For me, it was just a personal decision based on those factors.

Like Green said, it's more about letting it define you. I'm still who I am at a base level; Covid hasn't changed that. I think we’re all a combinations of what we go through. Human nature. My neice has stories from being navy nurse in Afghanistan, now more from Covid. How it doesn’t change you I can’t imagine. And if you were FDNY at 9/11 I can’t imagine being the same after. Everyone’s different I guess. Like I said, define. No way can things like this, 9/11, or what your niece has seen not CHANGE you on some level, that's part of the human experience and how we grow; or in my original post, regress. These people I am talking about have allowed these things to define who they are, their relationships, how they interact with the world. That's pathological behavior, victimhood. Different.

i have a question...say i got the virus months ago...had no symptoms...didn't even know i had it....will it show up if i get tested now?... Will what show up? You shouldn't get a positive PCR test though there are tons of false positives with those but you can get an antibody test and you should still have plenty of antibodies.

Perhaps speaking with an educated doctor rather than getting medical advise from an internet board would be a wise course. Or, roll the dice. Your choice.

It’s all about risk and your tolerance for it, I’d say. Get the vax and really lower your risk of contracting the virus and any of its potential side effects, or roll the dice that your particular body make up is able to fight it off with no side effects. I know otherwise healthy unvaccinated people who got COVID and just had a ‘weird’ flu type experience for two weeks, and other who was going to go to the hospital in the morning if it didn’t get any better because he couldn’t breathe. Also his wife had it in January and she still can’t taste anything. Apparently it affects some people and not others.

The last time that I accepted advice on here, it was regarding the chick that soaked my bed. Which lead to a spirited discussion about the contents of female ejaculate. (Piss or no piss). Ahhhhh….good times….

When I first took it, I thought it was a vaccine. Now I view it as a therapeutic that I was able to take in advance. So, in reality it didnt end up being what we were originally sold but it is still a lot better than having nothing. I will not judge anyone for not taking the vaccine. I think gubmint mandates are a road to hell. "For your own good". Go read a history book about that. Never thought I would see so many willingly buy-in but I think its a generational thing.

i have a question...say i got the virus months ago...had no symptoms...didn't even know i had it....will it show up if i get tested now?... You likely will test negative for Covid. But if you get an antibody test it should show them. But natural immunity isnt being considered for mandates that are disregarding everything we know about immunology.
