Sales on green had dropped off. I don't think it was ever said but I imagine they wanted to take the scotches underlying the green blend and repurpose them into new blends that will sell better as new products.
I've seen green floating around liquor stores, at least where I am, as stores seem to have quite a problem unloading their supply.

Haven't tasted it yet. I have to admit I bought it cuz I liked the name and packaging. i gave to my dad for Xmas. I found a local supermarket (prolly a sort of Trader Joe's for you) with a huge whisky section. Gonna be trying a lot of new stuff. Admittedly I'm a newb in whisky. I had a beer phase where I was trying tons of different beers but now whisky's taken over. I'm trying to narrow down my tastes between Speysides, isles...etc. The Jura is excellent. Very smooth with a smidge of peat. What'd you think of the Storm/Caol Ila? I could brush my teeth with Islay... Agreed. They're both brilliant. The Storm has to be one of my favorites. My next purchase will be the Distiller's Edition from Talisker.

This is fantastic Talisker can do no wrong. By far my favorite Scotch in all its varieties. It's been a while since I had this on hand, but it might be time to order more. Thing is its so fucking good that even at $150+ a bottle, it still doesn't last at my house!

Not sure if double the price = double the quality.

Went out to lunch with a friend on Friday. As we were leaving the waiter called us over to the bar and gave us a couple of complimentary drinks to warm us up before we ventured outside. I've had Brandy before, but this was my first Armagnac. It was excellent - very complex and enjoyable. I may need to find a bottle and expand my inventory.
