The Abundah varies a lot by batch, always good but some of them are really special. Haven't heard anything about the 49 but the 45 and 47 were both great...interested to hear how it goes. Stupid question: What's the difference in batches? Do they use different casks? Casks, small variations in the recipe, time it was made, maybe even environment, aging or location the ingredients came from occasionally

I like Vodka. Mix this with some Chambord, Ginger Ale, and Lime Juice, and you have an amazingly tasty drink. Bonus points for being made by the best Gin maker around. Switch out the ginger ale for ginger beer, serve in a copper mug and you have a Moscow mule. Delightful and have made a comeback. Been my go to restaurant drink lately and I usually don't go for vodka...very drinkable

By making the wise decision to sign on here, you've instantly acquired a bunch of new friends, many of whom enjoy imbibing various spirits. This particular thread is about Scotch; not any brown liquor like the Ballbathersayer decided to turn it into over on JI. Over here we try to keep things orderly, because the general membership is disorderly. Therefore, I figured I could safely predict you would be starting a thread on vodka. 'Course, you're more than welcome to offer up some info on scotch...iffin you're so inclined.

Disapointigly heard a lot of mixed reviews on the Ardbeg bicentennial which scared me into buying a bottle. Just picked up these two beauties instead

Drank the last of these two last night. And drank some of this after the other two were finished.

I had the Glendronach 12 and was pretty impressed. How was that 15? I'm knocking back a bit of this:

Dude, go for the Aberlour first, trust me!!! I had it suggested to me by Warfish and now I'm on my second bottle. The whole brand is good, but that A'Bunadh tho... Had a go at the A'bunadh this weekend...whoa, not for the faint of heart! I hadn't noticed it was over 60%,ABV, it's definitely a sipping whiskey. I rarely do this but for my second round I did add just a splash of water which really opened it up IMO. It takes a while to get past the alcohol level and get to the different tastes. VERY nice. Won't be serving this one to everyone.

Not generally a fan of the poor quality spirit produced in Canada, but I simply cannot recommend this particular spirit enough. It is, simply put, brilliant. Dark fruity, musty, deep and with a spicy finish when taken neat. Absolutely brilliant when mixed in a cocktail, or, as I prefer, in a Rye & Ginger. For $26 a bottle, one simply cannot go wrong with this bottle. It is a blend (of course), of 91% pure Canadian Rye (actual Rye), 8% American Bourbon (Old Granddad, a high-Rye bourbon) and 1% Sherry. Love it.

I made up a great drink... I call it cotton candy.
Golden Grain, Grenadine, and Jones cream soda.
Shit will put hair on your forehead. Very drinkable. And dangerous. You can get a chick wasted with that shit if you were so inclined for that kind of thing. I kept thinking that the whole time i'm drinking it, you can just keep drinkin it like nothing at all. Just a splash of grenadine for color, cause Jones cream soda is clear, and golden grain... welll... lol
You could prank someone with the shit I'm tellin ya
