I think Burfict is more of a thumper, but yes like him I wouldn't put too much weight into his combine numbers. The kid is a stud when the pads are on. However, in the Risers and Fallers thread I mentioned that I've heard rumors about Dawson having a poor work ethic. I thought it was a bunch of bs, H\his showing today was kind of a red flag for me. I'd still take him, but probably at the end of round 2 top of round 3. Dawson himself admitted he was late to meetings on several occasions.

Paul Dawson looks like shit so far....I'm completely surprised by his workout. Yeah it looks like he doesn't give a shit out there. He looks nothing like the player I saw on tape. It makes no sense.

Anybody take a look at Tre Mcbride? It looks like he's going to be this years John Brown. A small school WR that goes much higher than everyone thought. He did really well at the combine and we apparently met with him. McBride, Tre William & Mary 6002 210 32 1/8 9 4.41 1.51 4.41 1.55 4.41 16 38" 10'2" 6.96 4.08 11.70 Here's his highlight tape. It's all I can find right now, but he looks pretty good.

He must have done well on his wonderlic. He is completely off my board and it's a shame. What a meathead. He's an idiot, but with the right coach I think he'd still be worth a pick. With that said have you watched Ben Heeney at all? I'm about to watch the OU vs Kansas game right now. He's only 6' 231, but looked good in the position drills today. He ran a 4.61 and had the 4th best 3-Cone time out of every position since 2006. STRENGTHS Regional scouts say he is absolutely beloved by coaching staff. Produced eye-catching "tackles for loss" numbers in 2014. Tape grinder always looking for an advantage. Has no interest in waiting for play to come to him and looks to make things happen. Always around the ball and rarely comes off the field. WEAKNESSES Does not look the part of an NFL linebacker. Lacks the size and NFL "take-on" qualities against offensive linemen. Subpar pass defender in space and had only one pass defensed all season. Play strength and functional speed are missing. Was the college football leader in missed tackles in 2014. SOURCES TELL US "I'm not saying he doesn't have instincts or work hard, but he guesses way too much. He's always around the ball, but he's also missing too many tackles to play in our league." -- NFC area scout BOTTOM LINE Undersized inside linebacker with a big motor and willingness to take chances. Lacks the athleticism to recover from mistakes in the running game and is too tight to cover in space against the pass.

He's an idiot, but with the right coach I think he'd still be worth a pick. He ran half speed through the combine drills and pulled up early on his 40 when there were question marks about his dedication. He's a fucking moron and no coach can fix that.

Idk some of these kids only coast until they hit the NFL. It's horrible and it puts a lot of doubt in my mind, but if he did well in the interview after I grilled him about it. I would still use a pick on him. Not sure how high anymore though.

Great hands catcher, good fluidity body wise, doesn't play to the speed he clocked today, lack of separation in a bad conference, needs work on route running. Overall I like him later in the draft.....say around the fourth. He plays like a tough mofo and I like that.

I like him, but he better not be the first WR we draft unless we signed someone amazing haha.

Even guys like Burfict, Henderson, and Lyerla at least tried during their combine. I have no idea what he was thinking and I wouldn't be surprised if deeper problems come to the surface in due time.

That comment brings back horrific memories of last years draft discussions, I remember we were saying the same thing last year and low and behold, Jalen Saunders and Shaq Evans in the fourth.

I have no idea what he was thinking and I wouldn't be surprised if deeper problems come to the surface in due time. Dawson does appear to be a bit of a prima donna. It was like the second he realized he wasn't running a good 40 he gave up after 35 yards, and didn't try again all day. He wasn't even getting pissed off like the others who did poorly. He just looked like "eh whatever." I have to give Burfict credit tho. He tried his hardest. He literally doesn't test well and dropped because of that and his anger problems on the field. Henderson really didn't give a fuck because he knew he could be great if he wanted to. That caused him to become lazy. I think Dawson is a combo of both of them. He knows he's great on the field and because he knows he doesn't test well he doesn't give a shit. That's a horrible attitude, but his game tape shows he does care a lot when he's in the game. That's why I'd still draft him some where. His attitude is what's gross. I can live with poor test results.
