So last week my wife of twelve years told me that she filed for divorce. I don't really know what to do or what to expect. We have two kids 11 and 7. We own a house. What to do?

Went through it about 5 years ago. Kids were 10 and 7. Best advice I can give is get a good lawyer, don't be nice and ALWAYS be there for your kids. It sucks but it gets better. |

Hire an attorney ASAP. Small things now can become big issues in the divorce. If you wait around and hope for the best you will find yourself quite unsatisfied.
I'm going to take my experience as an attorney who helps clients with divorces and qualify Trades' comment to "[not] be nice" that you should be firm and rationally assert your rights. You do not want to be a pushover but you also rarely do yourself any favors by being a dick. It might feel good in the short term but when it drags out the divorce and costs you a lot more money (as it almost always does) you may regret that decision and not just for the money wasted but for the way it affects your children and your access to your children. It's hard not to inject the confusion, anger, sadness and frustration you feel and will feel into the divorce but future you will appreciate that you kept your emotional processing and legal proceedings independent.

Tell her you agree to the divorce, but only in a Sharia Tribunal, so you have to fly to Texas for the tribunal, then instead, all sneaky like fly to wherever your honeymoon was and win her all over again by giving her orgasm after orgasm like she has never experienced before till she looks at you like your Zeus or something.

If you only listen to one person listen to Trades - get a good lawyer and take their advice. Times like this people do not think straight.
Buddy of mine just got through with his divorce - got ass raped cuz he didn't listen to his lawyer.
