I think Snow has had his shot. Constructing a questionable roster, trading Moulson for Vanek, and others.
Time for Snow to beat it, also. A shame the wasted years of this rosters prime.

I did put some blame on Snow. I still wouldn't mind if he is retained because he has had so little funds to work with over the years constructing this team although I'd have no problem if they let him go and cleanse the organization. It's been 23 years since they won a playoff round........23 YEARS. Today's game was especially frustrating. Coming off of a great effort in the loss in Washington, I thought they could try to build on that. I thought they played pretty well and had the better of the play in the first period, but once down 2-0, it looked like they gave up. Down 2, 40 minutes left. Still plenty of time, but once they fell behind it looked like they were a different team. All the energy sucked out of that lineup. This is the first time this season that I have really questioned if they will make the playoffs this season. Miss the playoffs and Cappy has got to go. You have to find out what these guys can do with a different coach. Even if they make the playoffs, unless they can win a playoff series, I think they need to make the move. 23 years is just too fucking long. The early 80s are ancient history.

Yeah I think the playoffs and then do some damage is the only way to justify keeping Cappy.

Yeah I think the playoffs and then do some damage is the only way to justify keeping Cappy. Yup. And as to Snow, I think they need to make the playoffs. I think they have had two playoff appearances in his 10 years. He has built a roster to restore them to relevance, but has not taken them from relevant to a real contender. Although I will reserve judgement until the end of the season.

The trade for Tim Thomas reinforced what he was instructed to do and was sad, something the league should have looked into.

The trade for Tim Thomas reinforced what he was instructed to do and was sad, something the league should have looked into. I agree that he has been in a tough position, but with teams that were as bad as the Isles -- we have had 5 top 5 picks since 09 -- he had a great opportunity to rebuild this team through the draft. Aside from JT, who was a no brainer at #1 back in 09, many of his draft picks have disappointed. Strome, Reinhart, Neiderreiter -- all top 5 picks. 2 of them already gone and Strome has failed to develop and while it is too early to write him off, he does not look like the type of player you want with a Top 5 pick. And all of the young defensemen that we have been waiting for -- Pulock, Pedan, Mayfield, Pelech, Pokka, Ness, Donovan -- have contributed little or nothing. Like i said, I am willing to reserve judgement on Snow to see how the season plays out, but if we miss the playoffs this year, I would be ready for a complete change.

Additionally, A. Nillson was in net for Edmonton. Is that the isles backup from a season or two ago?

Additionally, A. Nillson was in net for Edmonton. Is that the isles backup from a season or two ago? Yup. The same guy we sen to Chicago in the Leddy deal. If you remember Niilsson, he is the guy that on some nights looked awful but managed to keep the puck out of the net and on other nights he was just plain awful. It was the 2nd version today. Gave up a couple of soft goals early, trouble controlling rebounds and the Isles got rolling. Nice bounce back after yesterday. Just finish it off strong.

Good effort tonight. Weak first period, but dominated the last 40 -- great game for Korpisalo to keep CBJ in it and steal them a point. Nice to see both Lee and Strome find the back of the net tonight. Going to need these guys to step up -- we are a much better team when the secondary scorers are contributing.
