Was at the Sweet 16 here in Chicago last night, so I missed the game. Sounds like that is a good thing. 7 goals. Unreal. Seems like they have fallen apart since Halak got hurt. I didn't think it would be a big deal at the time, because I was confident in Greiss, but man, he has been slumping since he had to step in as the #1.
Just two points up on Detroit for the last playoff spot, but still a game in hand. And even if they get into the playoffs, is there any reason to think they can win a series, especially since they will likely play the Caps, based on the way they are going right now.

I don't see any real signs of them pulling out of the slump before the season ends. They've scored more goals the last 2 games, but now can't defend or stop the puck. kinda like the Jets - can never seem to put all three phases of the game together at one time, for any consistent length of time. Silver lining - when they miss the playoffs or bounced in 5 in the first round, Crappy and Garf are gone. so even though I'm bummed about the playoffs, I'm excited for a new regime. |

Huge 2 points I didn't think they'd get. 2 pts just to keep pace.
After that second period, I was certain the third would be bad. Wasn't great, but much better, and actually played a decent OT for once.
