We would have destroyed all of these teams. Fuckity fuck fuck. What shit. Go Broncos I guess? It's Peyton vs brady in the SB without any doubt whatsoever. Too good a story line for Goodall to miss. It's the wide world of wrestling match of the century. The fix is in, mark my words, pm me with bets, I've never been more sure of anything in my life. How does Brady play Peyton in a SB?

Talented players like Burfict go undrafted for a reason. Crazy how he basically won the game single handedly only to then pretty much lose it in the end. That was absolutely a penalty on the Brown hit.
The real problem I have was with the extra pacman penalty. He barely even touched porter and why the fuck is porter on the field anyway? and as per usual a terrible job by cbs, only showing that dust up one time. The refs are killing this league and some of the blame also falls on cbs and fox announcers who never have the balls to really question a call during live game action. It's just disgraceful... Another example, every single holding call should be replayed to the audience. It is about half the time it seems. Every single non hold that any jerk at home watching on tv can clearly see should be replayed... It NEVER is.
Officiating will never be perfect, it can't be, but they should at least try.

I'd be surprised if Lewis was fired. Mike Brown is the owner and GM. He specifically targets the Pacmans and Burficts of the world. I think Lewis does as well as you can do to keep them in. You can't collect guys like that and then blame the coach when they inevitably do something stupid. Also, and I credit Mike Brown for this, the Bengals seem to keep things in perspective. They have 12 seasons of 10+ wins in franchise history. Marvin Lewis has been the coach for 6 of those seasons. Before Lewis, the Bengals had produced back to back 10 win seasons ONCE in their history. They currently have a run of 4 consecutive 10+ wins seasons, their 12 wins this year tied a franchise record (in a year where they didn't have their franchise QB for the last quarter of the season). And people want to fire the coach? Mike Zimmer and Jay Gruden are both coaching playoff teams right now. The Bengals lost those two guys and kept right on rolling. Marvin Lewis has built something in Cincinnati. He lost two very good coaches and the team continued to improve. The Bengals have never before experienced the level of sustained success that they are currently enjoying. I don't think that Mike Brown is even considering looking for a new coach. Say what you will about Dalton, he's a lot better than McCarron. They win this game if he's playing. Rex won a bunch of playoff games. Did that make him a good coach? You shouldn't get rid of a coach based on performance in a single-elimination tournanment. They've only been favored in 2 of those 7 games and in one of those (against us in 2009) they shouldn't have been. They had a +14 point differential that year, we were +112 (I remember Aaron Schatz telling Bill Simmons on his podcast that his models had the Jets as clear favorites against the Bengals and had us favored again the next week against San Diego). Long story short, the Bengals consistently make the playoffs playing in a division with the Steelers and the Ravens. They are in the middle of the only sustained period of winning in franchise history. To fire the coach because of what happened tonight seems like a gross overreaction to me. Both Lewis and Dalton dont get the respect they deserve. Andy Dalton would easily be the second-best QB this franchise ever had if he was a Jet. He would be the best statistically without a doubt. He really has done a good job. Not only have they developed some really good players but he has cultivated a nice little coaching tree as you mentioned. But there is no getting around the 0-7. 0-3 or 0-4 I can chalk up to the single-elimination thing. Last night I dont even blame him. I dont blame Burfict either. I think you can get on Pacman b.c it was a mental/emotional mistake that he should be able to contain in that situation. I dunno. IMO something needs to change there. He has been there a long time and they havent been able to get over the hump. This isnt the first case of a coach not being able to get over a hump.

If Burfict was a Jet he would be one of the more popular ones. Hes the type of player you love when they are on your team but hate when they arent. I dont know the last LB we had that could have even made that type of play that he did on his INT. I have come to grips with the fact that by today's standards the Burfict hit is a penalty but they do allow the officials to make judgement calls and if they are going to let the Shazier hit go then they have to let the Burfict hit go. Its the uneven officiating that is ruining this league. And even casual fans are beginning to realize that the rules are a little different for the Pats, Steelers and Giants. Its not a coincidence. They all get away with murder.

The NFL's fuckin Steeler agenda kills me. They help them every game. Hell they even protect them in games they aren't playing in, I.e. the free reign at holding the Jets defense weeks 16 & 17. Fuck you NFL and Roger Goodell AND the officials office. Fuck you guys with a shovel.

Two things lost amid the chaos of the ending of last night's game:
The great job AJ McCarron did in the 4th quarter to lead his team back on put them in a position to win.
Also, I don't understand how there is not more discussion of Martavis Bryant's TD catch. I am so confused trying to figure out what is and what isn't a catch these days. Looked to me like he didn't fully possess the ball, pulling it in after he pinned it to his leg, until after his feet left the ground and he landed out of bounds. Maybe it was too close to overrule since it was ruled a TD on the field, but watching it live and watching the tape, I still don't see it as a catch.

The curse of Boomer esiason. Bengals won't win another playoff game until he's dead.
