Not trying to be a dick but have you actually seen the plays? The ballcarrier argument does not come into play bc he hit him with the crown of the helmet which is always a penalty unless they are within 3 yards of the LOS and inside the tackle box. Shazier's hit was a penalty. Wasnt called. The play on the Burfict hit wasnt completely over. He took one step and hit him with his shoulder. It was bang-bang. This isnt Madden. Cant change directions or stop momentum in a millisecond. Shazier was putting a hit on a player who has the ball, Burfict was putting a hit on a guy without the ball. Thats why one was a penalty and one wasnt. Also not to mention Shazier was trying to put helmet on ball, Burfict was going to the head deliberately. Now Im convinced you didnt watch the plays or even read what I wrote. I never said they were the same. I said they were both penalties and if you call one you have to call the other. Not bc they are the same penalty but bc when a game is physical like that you can choose to let them play or call it close. They were inconsistent and unfair. The players want consistency in officiating. They want to know what a penalty is.

The players want consistency in officiating. They want to know what a penalty is. I read what you wrote and simply dont agree with it. Shazier was making a play on the ball, Burfict was going to the head when the player didn't have the ball. From watching games it seems they will let helmet to helmet slide if the defender was not deliberately going for the hea, which is how I interpreted the Shazier play. He was going for the ball, it was incidental that their helmets hit. Burfict however was deliberately going for the head. And Brown didn't have the ball. Again, the intent needs to be taken into context. We can agree to disagree.

As I thought. It's not even a discussion. One thing I took from the Bengals seasons on Hard Knocks was how small of an operation the Bengals are. The Brown family runs every aspect of the front office and Marvin Lewis coaches the team. Mike Brown, as GM and owner, has worked with Marvin every day for the past 13 years. They've spent more time in an office together than any other owner-coach tandem in the league. Bob Kraft is not in the room when Belidick is cutting down the roster after training camp; he's not there when they're putting together the Big Board. I don't know if they're personal friends or not, but a deep professional respect would had to have developed over that time. This is not a normal owner-coach relationship.
And I'll just say again that in the 12 years before Lewis was hired, the Bengals had ONE season where they won 8 games, and they were below .500 every other year, including going 2-14 the final pre-Lewis season. They were a dumpster fire organization and Brown was the GM then too. When he looks at Marvin Lewis, he sees, literally, the best thing that ever happened to his franchise. I think that the only way Lewis is ever fired is if they have a stretch where they miss the playoffs in 2 out of 3 years.

Of course he'll play. He should never even have come back into the game at the end on Saturday Acromio-clavicular joint (in case you were wondering, like me): ![](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/3/3b/Gray326.png/250px-Gray326.png) ![](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/e/ec/Gray328.png/250px-Gray328.png)

"He just keeps talking..." LOL That Phil Simms Quotes channel on twatter is damn hilarious. You realize how hilariously dumb and contradicting the shit he says is. I've noticed it before, but reading it is a whole new ball game.

Please share how to access it ^ twitter.com/philsimmsquotes?lang=enJust a couple random goodies from the last game... "He threw it right where he wanted to. Threw a lot of these before the game. This one was a little off target" #PITvsCIN "See it. Saw it. Showed it to ya. That's how they playitdoit..." #PITvsCIN “The Steelers defense is back on the field… I bring this up because.. conditioning is part of the deal.” #analysis #PITvsCIN “Dangerous. That could have been a lateral… which is was.” — Mid sentence contradiction. Beautiful. #PITvsCIN “I knew you were going to ask me that question that’s why I answered it.” Nantz: “No that’s really no question at all” — A++ #PITvsCIN the ones with Nantz are usually so damn funny. None of these are doctored. It's seriously great.
