Idzik got a raw deal. He took you guys out of cap hell and whoever comes in is going to inherit that. The stipulation of forcing Rex on a new GM was idiotic. Maybe his drafts wouldn't have looked so bad if the GM had been able to hire a coach whose scheme would fit the type of players he wanted to bring in. I know I'm the only person on the planet who feels this way. He deserved to be fired and getting us out of cap hell isn't worth keeping his job. It doesn't take a rocket scientists to let contracts expire. His failure was once HE decided to keep Rex last year he didn't give him the weapons to fight with all that cap money. That's on him

the only thing that scared me was that he will have final call on the coach. I get that he is the owner but he should let the GM make that call. We shall see Here's my 2 step guide to being a good owner: 1) Hire a quality football guy to run the organization from top to bottom. 2) Stay the fuck out of the way. Maybe him having final say on the coach is just a ceremonial deal or whatever, but if he hires a GM and then overrules the GM on the coach then that's another Rex/Idzik disaster waiting to happen.

His draft this year was absolutely abyismal. Worst I've ever seen. Do you have an auto-alert for "Idzik" in relation to something positive and a ring-tone that mimics a fire alarm? Just curious. Every time, you come running and this is all you have every contributed. Amazing.

I don't feel bad about both getting axed. I though Idzik would be around to get the opportunity to build the team from the top down but I am definitely not sad to see him go.

Did nobody else pick up on Woodys response when asked if the GM was going to be hired before the coach? It sounded to me like if Casserly and Wolf found a HC they liked they would hire him first and then get the GM. Fuckin Woody still hasn't learned a thing.
Someone else also pointed out about Woody getting hit with tampering charges when asked about Revis and he said he'd love to have him back. This guy.

Reactions coming in from around the league. "So the Jets handicapped Rex with no talent, let the best defensive player they ever drafted come to New England, and fired him after he couldn't win with Geno Smith at QB? lol Do they know I haven't won a Super Bowl in 10 years with one of the Top 3 QBs of all-time?"![](http://www.bostonherald.com/sites/default/files/styles/full/public/media/2013/10/30/103013PracticeBT08.jpg)

A guy like that would essentially pick his own GM. In Harbaugh's case, it is said that Tom Gamble would likely be his guy.

jetstream,
That cheating scumbag up in Fuckboro, along with his bitch, Tammy, are overjoyed this morning know they no longer have to face a Rex Ryan coached defense twice/year.

He doesn't let fans influence his decisions, but wants fans to be confident in the franchise So you're saying the big-ass Billboards calling for Idzik's firing had no effect, huh? c'mon Carlito.... lol. That billboard was an embarrassment to Jets fans. Fans don't have the influence you think they do. Not even close. That billboard was a waste of money that could have went to a better cause. Anybody fan trying to take credit for Idzik getting fired is an idiot IMO.

That's EXACTLY what he should do. Let the FOOTBALL people do their FOOTBALL jobs. Casserly/Wolf can(and will) find a better HC than when Woody made the attempt. I trust their judgement way more than I trust Woody's.

And Rex is gone. Get over it and move on man. With a good HC we're heading back to the days of 9-7 and maybe some occasional playoff trips. I'd rather have the guy who struck fear in the hearts of the best QBs in the NFL. I'd rather have on my sideline the guy who Bill Belicheck and Tom B. see in their nightmares. I'd rather have as my head coach the guy who, with a good roster, takes a team into Indianapolis and beats Peyton Manning at his peak. At best dude, we're heading back to the Herm Edwards days of slightly above average.

Right? ![(zzz)](http://i.imgur.com/hj4VmKj.gif) Give me a break. If the Fans didn't put up that "embarassment", Idzik might still be here and the only one fired would've been Rex.
