We will see but reduced regulations and not trying to kill the coal industry as Obama said he was doing can't hurt. Plus it is a good thing that there was Obamacare when my coal mining grandfather died in 1940 from black lung so the my grandmother was able to get her black lung benefits for the rest of her life. One has nothing to do with the other. The irony of hoping for LESS regulation and celebrating black lung "benefits" is so much awesomeness. LESS<>Removal of all, and who was celebrating? I am just saying that there was a Black Lung fund before Obamacare and there will probably be one after. One has nothing to do with the other.

You're digging miles into the earth (in confined spaces) and harvesting combustible rocks... How safe do you expect it to be? There's an incredible amount of inherent danger that comes with the job. And coalminers accept it. Because they aren't vaginas.

Measures to prolong its suffering are futile. The president of the coal miners association and Mitch McConnell coal mine senator, have said So themselves fuck them and their dangerous jobs. The government (me) doesn't owe them anything for their "service" for retirement pensions or black lung benefits. They are sucking on the govt teat worse than any "welfare queen". This is rich coming from the bootstrap party. These people along with workers getting their jobs outsourced are lazy entitled fucks that think somebody owes them something (and don't think Donald Trump doesn't believe it too ) with no motivation to go learn anything else to do - on the government or their old company 's dime!! - (damn nobody paid for my education) Then blame everybody else but themselves for their problems and gullibilly vote for a messiah who claims he will bring back obsolete industries. And in their resentment stick it to "east coast elites" by voting for an orange haired walrus as if they are the source of their problems. Yeah you sure showed us! I love the fact that the money Carrier is getting from Indiana will be used to automate that factory getting rid of not only those whopping 730 jobs that were "saved"but almost every other one as well. The rich irony

Thank you republicans Again, I am not saying I agree with the black lung pension fund, I am just saying it isn't reliant upon Obamacare in any way. This is just a scare tactic. P Hell yeah they're scared. Please inform yourself. The "benefit" existed but they had to jump through thousands of hoops to get it , if they lived long enough. ACA made the benefit much easier to get. Basically all you had to do was apply and you got it, in months. It will go back to the way it was without the ACA and people know they are screwed If President-elect Donald Trump fulfills his promise to repeal the Affordable Care Act, coal miners may lose disability benefits related to black lung. The ACA included a provision meant to reverse the difficulty coal miners experienced when applying for compensation for black lung disease. Before 2009, “miners had to prove not only that they were disabled because of breathing problems, and that they had coal workers’ black lung, but that their disability was caused by their years in the mine,” writes a journalist at the online publication Stat. The Affordable Care Act changed that. Under “Miscellaneous Provisions” is a small section sponsored by a self-proclaimed “child of the Appalachian coalfields,” the late West Virginia Democratic Senator Robert Byrd. The Byrd Amendments shifted the burden of proof from the miners onto the mining companies. If a miner has spent 15 years or more underground and can prove respiratory disability, then it is presumed to be black lung related to mine work, unless the company can prove otherwise.
