Lets say for speculation purposes that Macc does the typical asshole GM thing and says "hey! there's lots of backs to chose from" and convinces himself Forte plus random round five RB will do...
And of course there's no way the Jets are taking Mike Williams in round 1. We're going for an unbeatable record of years with no first round WR picks. (2001 Santana moss is almost 20 year old record standing)
So who the fck else could the Jets honestly take?
I honestly don't know who the hell those meatheads in the war room could possibly prop up over Fournette. But they will.
QB?... don't see it. Anyone worth their salt is going to CLE/SF/CHI
Cam Robinson?... please. I'll take the cyanide pill now.
More front defensive linemen? Some overrated tweeners?
Help me out with some names.

Malik Hooker and I'll be perfectly fine with it.

Jonathon Allen drops to 6 and we take another guy who plays the same position as Sheldon, Leo, & Mo.

Maybe Reuben Foster. Back to back ILB's in the first round.

If they fall in love with Trubisky and he's there at 6 I could see them pulling the trigger.
Really hope they don't pull the trigger on Watson.

First, there is zero chance Mac takes a QB at 6. Not only because there isn't a QB worthy of that selection but, the ramifications would be significant. He would basically be forced into starting that QB from day one. Could you imagine Mac drafting a QB at 6 and then coming out and saying he isn't ready to play and needs "time". After the shit he pulled with Hack this year declaring a red shirt year, there is no way in hell he could try that gain with a top 10 overall pick. And since there isn't a QB who is a viable week one starter, you can cross off QB on your list. Second, cross off Mike Williams from your list. Jets never take a player that I like this much. Especially from my alma mater. My guess is they take a Derek Barnette or Solomon Thomas. What's one more first round pick in the front 7?

I was really hoping to read some replies and go -- "hey, that might work"... no luck... lol bang on about QBs. It's not gonna work. You take a QB in round 1 -- you're admitting Hack was a brutal mistake -- AND -- if said round 1 QB struggles in any phase of anything -- everyone's fired. 100%

I feel like we're destined to take (*insert name of generic SEC lineman*) despite an estate's worth on the roster. Every year, same old dream of chasing the next Ngata or Polomalu. How can our Management always always feel like defensive players are the best possible option in the first round. Are they really under the illusion that you can farm a WHOLE TEAM on offense with mid round picks??
I *almost* can't wait to see who our esteemed management thinks is more important building block than Leonard Fournette.

Sucks because the Hack pick should never effect anything we do because it was just a pfail. _

If there was a legit prospect there at 6 I think Mac could pull the trigger, but none of these kids are that kind of prospect.

If there's some sliver of hope -- it's that Macc has gone back to back defense and seen little come out of it. The pressure to draft a splash playmaker on offense to help mask the ineptitude at QB is going to be very real. I'm going to be temporarily religious for the next 3 months.

Get him a 6'3" 225 pound, massive catch radius receiver. Know any that may be available at 6? Lol.....

I hate to bust your bubble but it's probably a 90% chance we go defense again. You know.....BPA and all. Either a CB or ILB.
