I hate to bust your bubble but it's probably a 90% chance we go defense again. You know.....BPA and all. Either a CB or ILB. My only hope is that Woody pulls a Jerry Jones and forces us to draft a play maker to put butts in the seat a la Elliot. Cook or Fournette will do that. Normally I'd hate him interfering, but it's the right choice this year. Otherwise we're taking Reuben Foster, Barnett, Adams, Humphrey, or Robinson.

Which begs the macro-level question... how on earth is Fournette not the BPA when we pick? I concede that although i prefer Cook a smidge, i dug in for more Leo film and the talent is immense. Insane even. How... how how how, could he not be the BPA when we pick??

If Fournette demonstrates he has even average receiving ability during his pre draft evals, he will easily be the top RB in this class. LSU never threw him the ball, they had one of the least imaginative offenses in all of college football when he was there. I think he has the ability to catch the ball and at 235 pounds will be a monster in the open field.

I'm not arguing that he wouldn't be the BPA , just arguing what the Jets will do. I'm already geared up for us to take yet another defensive prospect in the first round, it makes the sting hurt a bit less. I've been banging the drum for over 5 years now to draft a playmaker on offense in the first round and we've drafted nothing but Dlineman and CB's. A philosophy that has worked out brilliantly so far. Can't wait until we start the thread, " Who do you NOT want the Jets to draft". I promise you, I'm not starting that thread this year, and more than likely will not even participate in it.

Good luck with that...we need more players that fit Bowles defense. We've already used two first rounders and spent a bazillion dollars on our secondary, we need to add more.

They don't utilize their play makers at all. All the do is slam Fournette up the middle. That's why I wouldn't mind taking a flyer on Malachi Dupre in the mid to late rounds. He has a bit of a drop problem like Beckham, but he makes some crazy plays.

I also love Dupre. Been watching him since his Jr. Year in high school. Highly recruited and foolishly went to LSU.

Lol.....you know come April you won't be able to hold out. It will be fun seeing that every pick the Jets make this year will be mentioned in that thread.

It's a painful reminder every year how us fans that don't know shit could easily draft better than this franchise. The best part is when the know nothings come in to defend the picks only too change course a few years later.

Look, one of the great things about this place is that we have pretty strong opinions about the players we love and hate, and give plenty of support to our opinions. We also state all of this BEFORE the draft, so when I say "I told you so" about a guy like Pryor for example, there is a ton of pre draft posts supporting our point.
