No more defense in the first round....it's not working. I also hate when people send links to draft profiles and highlight films on the net because most of them are worthless trash that gets regurgitated from one site to another. Highlight films are especially useless. Welcome to the site but this forum seems to function differently than many of the other forums out there. People form their own opinions from watching their actual game tape, combine, all star games, etc. I'm not saying you haven't done that because it sounds like you have....just pointing out no one on here wants to see what NFL.com or a K-Ro scouting report contains. With that said I hope you stick around because for the most part everyone here is all about the prospects and it's quite civil. Except when assholes like Paradis and HN stop participating in these delightful threads that Maury is starting.

Paradis was doing well, but then he fell off the wagon and started wacking off to TEs again. I'm going to have to post a Njoku thread to get him back on track.

I'd rather hear HN's take because he's a Miami guy. Paradis is stuck on watching South Alabama for the next month and drooling over all of the players we are going to miss out on from their NFL pipeline squad.

I've kind of been waiting to do a post of my top 50 prospects with a lot of detail, but I've been insanely busy this year with everything that's gone on. I'm also kind of waiting on the combine. It's not the end all be all but like you I think Fournette is a stud, but I don't see the wiggle in his hips. I kind of feel that he'll run in the low 4.6s at the combine, but I could be wrong.

Also the vision. Once he gets up to his top speed and hits the second level he's a elite, but behind the line of scrimmage he's avg. Look at how AP drops his hips and then accelerates. I don't see that with Fournette. That's why I'm super interested in his combine. Especially the cone drills.

That is why I said he is nothing like AP coming out. 3 cone drill will make him or break him and the tape meshes with him being poor in that drill.

Anyways, sorry to turn this thread into a Fournette one. I'm one of Sidney Jones's biggest fans. Hell he's my sig. He has an elite skill set but avg speed and weight. He is great in zone and man coverage. He can get bodied by bigger WRs because of his slight frame. However, I love his instincts and toughness. He looks like he'll either be a taller Jason Verrett or what people thought Kevin Johnson was suppose to be. Also he's not a speedster like Verrett, but I think he plays faster than he times. The combine will be big for him. He'll either be top 15 or high 2nd round pick afterwards.

I thought Maurry77's post about someone comparing him to Jamaal Lewis to be the most accurate. He gets by on size on strength. He has avg acceleration and vision, but with elite size and strength he can still be really good. Like Paradis said you can scheme to stop Fournette, but if you have a great OL or the other team has a weak DL he will probably run all over them. I still prefer Cook. I know he's a thug, but he cares about football. Maybe we can now drop a few spots and pick up another 2nd and take him. Everyone forgets how he told his team he wasn't going to sit out the bowl game. He wanted to compete and win. If I draft him I do what Jerry Jones did with Bryant and get him a babysitter.

Good post and I agree. Fournette is a tall Ron Dayne and Cook is another Ladainian Tomlinson if he can keep his head on straight. I just watched another game from him and he's a much better prospect than Fournette, even if he runs slower at the combine which he probably will straight line. Sorry for the hijack peppep, that's how we roll over here.

The top 10 might be a little weak, but there are a ton of 1st and 2nd round talents in this draft. It will push a lot of good players to the 3rd and 4th round.

I wish we had 12 picks in this draft. I wish for that every year, unfortunately Mac doesn't have a clue about comp picks. We do have a broken down Forte, so we have that going for us.

Gangin' up on me, hey bastards. Best TE class ever, and you think i was gonna let that slip by without using my megaphone?
Been a busy week. I'll be getting into some of this soon. Also, I've been trying to attract some of the more scholarly posters from elsewhere to contribute. Your welcome.
