Canadiens Cardinals Steelers Cowboys Red Wings Hell even the devils. Celtics Lakers on and on. Canadiens, I will buy, they have 23 Stanley Cups. Based on years of operation, probably the closest to the Yankees. Lakers have 16 rings, Celtics 17 I think? I can buy them, since the next closest is the Bulls with 6. Both teams, like the Yankees and Canadiens benefited from being around since the beginning of time. The rest, I dunno. Cardinals? Red Wings? 11 Championships each... second / third best in their respective leagues. I guess those numbers are ok in the NHL for original six teams... at least way better than the Bruins and the Rangers Steelers have 6, Cowboys have 5... If you said the Packers, with 13 total championships (9 pre-super bowl), Id give you that one, since the NFL is a different animal and a lot of the above championship totals are aided by longevity and smaller leagues/less competition in the early years. The Steelers in fact were known as the longest pre-Superbowl era "also ran" so thats a run of futility the Yanks didnt have. And the Devils? Are you smoking crack? Islanders have more cups than the NJD Billy Smith, yes. I was rattling while doing something else. If you have more than 5 you are in the conversation point is the Mets and Jets are a a joke, but the Steelers didn't win anything for their first 40 years so things could change, ya never know, long live the King and Queen. ...................

Just got invited to the Cubs - Yankees game at Wrigley on Friday. Not sure who to root for. The Met fan in me finds it hard to root for the Yankees, but the New Yorker in me wants to beat Chicago. Go Yankees, I guess??? I'm a Met fan who has never bought into the idea that I must be a Yankee hater. Different division, different league, not really a rival in the standings. I used to feel that way. I was a Met fan first, but I also rooted for the Yankees. Just like I was a Jet fan first, but also rooted for the Giants. Not sure exactly when it changed, but sometime after I moved out of NY in 2000. Over the last 10 years or so, I can no longer root for Yankees or Giants. Don't hate them, I just don't root for them. Just don't care about them anymore. But this afternoon, I am a NYer first, I will be hoping the Yankees can win so I don't have to hear the "Go Cubs Go" song at the end of the game. Hate that song.

If anyone had told me in the pre-season the Mets would be in disarray and the Yanks would lead the American League in victories at this point, I would have laughed like a hyena. (and I'm a Yankee fan).

Too bad the seats were way better than the game a at least we had a good tailgate to kick off the night.. I will be back out there tonight, but different seats. Couple of rows behind the Mets dugout for this one.

Cespedes may be back in one week. Maybe the Mets can use him out of the bullpen?

Cespedes may be back in one week. Maybe the Mets can use him out of the bullpen? Anything is worth a try at this point. On a positive note, we are trending in the right direction. 2 innings and 7 runs out of the bullpen on Sunday, and last night the pen worked 2 innings but only gave up 6. Progress.

I keep wondering how bad do they have to play before it costs Terry Collins his job?
