How long does it take for the docs to analyze the scans?

Holy shit. Tough choice between the cancer and the eye speculum.
Good luck with all the follow-ups.

How long does it take for the docs to analyze the scans? I have my post op visit next Weds. We will discuss the Pathology results on the tissue he removed as well as the result of the PET scan, which by the way takes a fucking eternity. Another long weekend and slow start to the week waiting to find out exactly how good/bad this is. I really think it is just in my neck to be honest. Hopeful anyway.

So we went in for the post-op followup and review of the pathology reports and PET scan. Good and bad news. I need more surgery at the original surgical site. I will lose my deep salivary gland on my left side. The good news is that the PET scan found no other masses any where in my body. Right now I will need minimal follow up treat and then PET scans at 6 and 12 months. Then one a year for 5 years. If all come back clean I will be said to be cancer fucking free.
Kicking cancers ass since 5-23-17

Kicking cancers ass since 5-23-17 I know a lot about BC and the pathology of it (ER/PR/BRCA/HER2, etc) and how each effects the chances of recurrence and how you treat them but not much about melanoma. Are there different types or pathologies of melanoma that are better or worse than others? Or is it just one kind? _

So glad the body PET came up clear, bud. Keep it up.

I already emailed a Radiologist and Pathologist I am friendly with. I will be stopping by their offices tomorrow to have them review/interpret for me in cliff note versions. I think the pathology is different though. Just not clear how how...yet.
