No Escagot? Only the French can prepare snails that are like a tenderloin to the palate. My ability to post while imbibing is now on display for all to see. Epic Fail!

Oh the Asian sister in law. I remember So this year there was a special aggravating twist, in between annoying crying 4 year old who bosses her parents, cramped in front of a fireplace spewing heat from Mordor, drinking with no conversation while everyone stares into oblivion with bovine eyes...my brother in law has taken up chinese. So when they don't want us to understand what they're saying they'll just start talking chinese in front of us (she speaks perfect French). I'm actually glad to be at work. That's obnoxious. I'd lose my shit. Next time invite me we'll fucking turn the tables on them quick

Fuck'n Germans around here and shit. Oh hi Goots, everyone, its goots. Goots, sleepy French types-uh.. and Yoko Blomo. Would you like to do shots? Was looking for Gagoots thread about "what have you been reading lately?' But maybe that was the other forum. This thread seemed just as relevant...and I laffed a little bit.
Ive read mostly piles of crap lately but liked Hillbilly Elegy: A Memoir of a Family and Culture in Crisis
What you got?

I read Cormac McCarthy's No Country for Old Men last weekend, love d the movie so ...a good read, I like his stuff. Currently reading Goodwin's Lyndon Johnson and the American Dream, not as fast a read however also very good.

The Institute - Stephen King Will likely turn into a TV Series... Yeah, that was really good.
His latest book that came out the other day sucked balls though. I never liked Holly Gibney and King can't stop writing about her.

I've read a lot of books that turned out to be crap lately. Really in need of a good story. Here are some things I've read lately that have been good:
The Witcher books by Andrzej Sapkowski. Liked the Netflix series so decided to read the books. The books were better!
Books from Hugh Howey that I'd recommend: The Wool Series, The Sand Series, Beacon 23
The Arthur books by Bernard Cornwell
Neil Gaiman books, The Ocean at the End of the Lane, The Graveyard Book
Anything By Charlie Huston (if you like noir).
The Passage by Justin Cronin
Believe it or not, True Grit. Didn't think I'd like it and was really surprised at how great it is. Delightful prose. Seriously. Tried to read other Charles Portis books, none of them had the same magic.
David Spade Audiobook, Polaroid Guy in a Snapchat World was funny if you like Spade.

I read The Road and was like, fuck! This is too dark and I even like dystopian novels.

Read the First Man in Rome series by Coleen McCullough. It covers Marius, Sulla, Pompey and Caesar if you like historical fiction. It was peobably the best book series I've ever read.
