Wifne and I set up our kids for the same. If I ever get sick and there's a DNR box, everyone is checking it. No need to keep paying the "healthcare" state if my body is ready to call it quits. I am spending over 100k a year to keep my Aunt in an Assisted living memory care unit, her money not mine. We just passed 2 years. Her overall health is good. She just has no clue where, what or who she is/was. DNR does not fix this shit. I will be on the Island on Sunday to move her on Monday to a nursing home, Medicaid covered, as she has a lump in her breast and the current place feels that they do not have the needed exp on hand to care for her. We will not do any invasive med procedures at this point. Make sure you have a long term care insurance plan. It will need to have at least 1 million or you will not last but a few years. I would have spent the rest of her money before going the nursing home route. Want to meet up and watch my kids play lacrosse? I know where I'm headed. All of my grandparents passed away in their mid-80's and every one of them was mentally sharp as a tack when they went, their bodies just broke down. I remember one of my uncles had to take my grandfather into the bathroom to clean him up and as they were walking away he mentioned the irony of one of his sons having to clean up his shit.

I had to maker the decision for my father and step-mom. It is agonizing. My ex-wife always said, "If anything ever happens to me, just pull the plug." I would always answer, "I have been looking for that plug for years." When wifne's mother passed a little more than two years ago (again, fuck cancer), it was wifne, my FIL and wifne's aunt at the house along with hospice. They took turns giving MIL morphine. None of them wanted to be the one to deliver the fatal dose, but my wifne is 99% certain she was the one who did it. Agonizing isn't a strong enough word.

Life is so short... I'm 62 and in the last 18 months I have said goodbye to 3 friends/clients between the ages of 55 and 63. All men, Left behind a spouse with children. I as their CPA/CFP trying to pull together their finances is so difficult as they are full of anger. and emotion. Just as they are planning their "senior years, grandchildren etc... the spouse is now all alone. Very tragic. So sad. Horrible. Easy to say but don't put off things you want to do. Make sure you have a will and insurance so your loved ones are taken care of when you are gone. I have also gotten a long term care plan so if anything ever happens to me where I need care it won't deplete my money and become a burden on my kids.Wifne and I set up our kids for the same. I think I may hate PSG more than the Jets. At least Luis is marginally more competent than Bobby Salad.

Kudos to the captain for moving the boat, but iffin I'm near a glacier and I see it calving like that, I'm burying the throttle as soon as I see upward movement.

My old man, a judge who has a relatively small arsenal AND a concealed carry license, is heavily discouraging me from purchasing a firearm. He says with kids in the house, especially stupid teenagers, it would be a non-starter for him (hypocrite). That said, he said if I was hell-bent on buying, he'd go with me to make sure what I'm buying is correct and I'm not getting screwed by a dealer. Pistol-grip Mossberg shotgun and a Glock pistol with at least an 8 round mag. Possibly happening this weekend. Possibly. And my 12 year old is asking for a new iPhone. Priorities. No offense but this post makes zero sense. You need to listen to someone other than your old man and there has been plenty of good information given in this thread but I'll expand on why that advice is wrong. Since you don't shoot guns having a pistol grip 12gauge is a bad idea because you will never be able to handle the recoil. Are they good guns...yes, for someone like yourself probably not. It would be much better to get a shotgun that you can stick in your shoulder. When it comes to the Glock I still can't wrap my head around why you would want a pistol more suited for concealed carry....it makes no sense. It's easy with todays technology to keep your pistol loaded and secure....no excuses. Millions of people have firearms that are not only inaccessible to their children but also readily available to them at a moments notice. Noted and will do more research. I only have one person advising me.

just fit very comfortably into size 36 jeans, and an L tshirt. not since high school. maybe freshman year of college if i can do it, you can't too I don't think I've worn a 36 since late college. Down to a 38 now. Lost almost 50lbs since this time last year. Bumped into a guy I haven't seen in years and he didn't recognize me. Felt really good.

Re: Bowers - I know he can catch and is dynamic with YAC. What I care about is his blocking. If Hackett/Rodgers have any brain, we're going to be seeing a lot of 12 and 13 formations to give Breece as much space with the ball as he needs to break off a big run. Now if Hackett/Rodgers can scheme to have Bowers chip a block and peel off to the middle of the field, which Rodgers doesn't like throwing to, there may be some value, but teams will watch the film and pick up on it every time. Viewing current mocks, it'll either be Odunze or Bowers. I'd much rather have a WR of the Larry Fitzgerald build than an undersized catching TE. However, the emerging knock on Odunze is that he cannot generate much separation ... I've heard tht as well. Picking at 10 sucks this year. Any OL we take will sit in year one, barring an injury. You want/need a 1st round rookie to contribute immediately, so forget OL. Then you have a "generational" TE who was schemes into position in college which might not translate to the NFL. Then there's a physical specimen of a WR who isn't great at separating from DBs. I'd love to trade back and recoup a 2nd, but who is willing to trade?

The one in Oceanside? I hear that place is never too crowded, as opposed to the one in Carle Place, which is a fucking daily nightmare. We joined BJ's to not deal with the parking. Yeah, it can get crowded but never as bad as Carle Place. Today it was the least crowded I've seen it. Always parking available even when crowded though. Liquor store and gas are also bonuses. During the winter my girls have indoor lax in Freeport, but the place is just off the Meadowbrook. Carpool moms have arguments about who's driving because there's a BJ's, Marshalls, Target, and Home Goods right across the street.

Was driving to Costco with wifne (South Shore LI) and didnt feel a thing. Daupne started texting from school as soon as we walked in. She said the whole school shook and she was only a few miles from us.The lighting in Costco is suspended by chains but when I looked up, not one was swaying even a bit which they still would have been had the store been impacted. Sopne is at LaGuardia airport and didnt feel a thing either though his co-workers a few miles away felt it strongly in College Point. Weird, the disparate impact. The one in Oceanside? I hear that place is never too crowded, as opposed to the one in Carle Place, which is a fucking daily nightmare. We joined BJ's to not deal with the parking.
