THREE teams in MLB looking for managers a month before spring training. Unprecedented.

Fwiw, just saw a re-tweet from ex MLB pitcher Dallas Braden of a chick who is supposedly Beltrans niece saying he was going to step down. That same chick is now saying Altuve and Bregman had buzzers inside their jerseys to let them know what pitch was coming... this whole thing is bizarre. Wouldnt doubt it. And LOL to the idiots saying the cheating ended in 17. common

And LOL to the idiots saying the cheating ended in 17. common Apparently a few people are now saying it, and saying that when Altuve hit that homerun, and you see him grabbing his jersey so they wont rip it off, its because he knew he had a hidden buzzer of some sort. If so, and it can be proved, gotta look at suspending them too.

Can someone explain to those not in to baseball (me) how this cheating worked? Isn’t there only like a couple seconds between catcher giving the sign and the pitcher throwing? So how did the signal get to the batter to know wha t was coming? And there’s like a dozen different pitches, no? Or could they only signal the batter that one specific pitch was coming?

Teams steal signs all the time... they just don't use technology to do so, which is illegal. Runners on base have been stealing signs since the beginning of time. They get the sign sequence and relay it to the coaches who then relay it to the batter. Apparently they had a camera in center field that could see the catchers signs, and someone in the hallway by the dugout was watching on a monitor, then telling the bench coach Alex Cora. Then they banged on a trashcan some number of times, or didnt. There's not quite a dozen pitches... the main jist of the cheating was to alert the batter to whether a fastball is coming, or a breaking ball or some offspeed pitch. I think it was no bangs on the trashcan for fastball, bangs meant something else... so if youre the batter and know a fastball is coming, you can sit back and crush it, in theory.

Altuve should be banned for life if he did what they are saying he did. That video of him is very damning. He ran all the way into the clubhouse to change his shirt and you can see something that resembles tape come out from under his shirt as he is tugging on the collar whilst rounding third for home.
This goes well beyond a batter taking a peek in the box or the runner on second relaying signs to the batter.
The league has nobody to blame but themselves. These things used to take care of themselves. If you thought someone was stealing your signs you would just put a pitch in their ear hole and the message was sent. Now all the batters wear gladiator armor and if someone is hit by a pitch everyone and their mother are suspended.

In response, Major League Baseball said Thursday it "explored wearable devices during the investigation (into the Astros) but found no evidence to substantiate it."
Oh boy....MLB is gonna have a major credibility problem.
