So what's this guy been up to since the Bills fired him in '12?

I think he's been writing for the boca breeze and staying at the del boca vista.

He's been doing the offensive coordinator equivalent of the training montage from Batman Begins.
I think it's an under the radar good hire.

Good offensive mind with a classic, west coast background who was simply overmatched as a HC.
Basically, he has the Norv Turner syndrome.
A guy who is a damn good OC but a mediocre at best HC.
I like the hire.

So what's this guy been up to since the Bills fired him in '12? Apparently he got a little lost when his email address was sold to Scout. He's been talking with HYATT for 2 years. The Jets rescued him with this hiring.

I like the hire. If you seen his offense in action with the Bills, which I saw a lot of, you would see that he runs a spread offense similar to the Patriots. A lot of quick throws getting guys the ball in space. 90% in Shotgun with 1 RB and 4 Wr's or 3 WR's and 1 TE split out. Not really a classic west coast guy besides the short passing. Personnel wise he's much different in my opinion.

Guy got 3,000 yards and 22 TD's out of Tyler Thigpen in 11 games in KC

I'm probably in the minority but I'm not fan of this hire at all. I wonder if the game has simply passed on by Gailey. I would have rather went with someone who's been connected in the NFL over the past few years especially. I do like the Bowles hire a lot though.

One thing I think should not go unmentioned is the saavy move on Bowles part to bring in not only a good offensive coach, but an offensive coach who has been around forever and been a head coach twice.
While I certainly would be tempted by the next up and coming offensive name, for a first time head coach, especially one who is a defensive guy, this move makes sense on multiple levels.

One thing seems for sure, this wasn't just a snap, off-the-cuff decision by Bowles to bring in Chan Gailey.
This tweet does inspire some confidence.

I hear what you guys are saying.Starting to warm up a bit to the idea of him but you have to admit to being a little bit concerned.the guys been out of the league for two years, what has he been doing the past two years? Hopefully he's been doing that thing unemployed coaches do when they travel around the country checking out different programs and coaches picking their brains for new ideas. Hopefully he adds a new layer to his offense a whole bunch of new wrinkles, maybe this could be a good thing ,the offense could get off to a fast start in the first half of the season simply because no tape of he's offense the last two years to watch. And fuck I gotta be up in 5 hours for work nite....

Tokyo posted a blog piece (written by a Bills fan). No power runs.
