I have spent enough time talking about Bills assistants. There are a couple of names I am hearing as candidates for the Jets staff. Anyone else being mentioned as potential assistant coaches:
He is also interviewing for Browns OC position.
Don't know much about Patullo (asst WR coach with Tennessee), but he is not Sanjay Lal, so he has that going for him

I want Keith Armstrong as ST's coach. I know Atlanta has initially declined the Jets from contacting him, but hoping the new Falcon HC will have his own ties to another assistant to take the job instead of keeping Armstrong hostage from joining his college teammate in Bowles.

I am with you -- I would love to see Armstrong here, but from what I have read, Dan Quinn is still the frontrunner for the Falcons job and he and Armstrong coached together with the Dolphins. Maybe the Falcons will surprise us (or get tired of waiting if Seahawks win today) and hire Teryl Austin who may have someone else in mind for STs.

Quinn only coached 1 year with the Dolphins, on Saban's staff, I don't think Armstrong was on that staff. Bowles and Armstrong were on the staff under Sparano, I believe this is the case anyway, I could be wrong.

They coached two years together. Quinn was DL coach with the Phins in 2005 & 06 and Armstrong was ST coach there from 01 - 07. I hope I am wrong, but I am guessing that Quinn has told them he would keep Armstrong as his ST coach in the interview process, so the Falcons would not allow him to interview with the Jets.

Atlanta let Mike Tice out of his contract to make a lateral move to Oakland. He was OLine coach in Atlanta and will be the same with the Raiders. I think if both the Jets and Armstrong pressed then Atlanta might release him. BUT, Armstrong has to be the guy requesting it and making a case that he can't sit around not knowing whether he'll have a job in Atlanta next year while another team is ready to hire him right now.

And this from Schefter twitter "Falcons are hiring Kyle Shanahan as their OC, per league source. Shanahan and Dan Quinn planned to be package deal."

Falcons can talk to Quinn this upcoming week but can't make anything official until the SB ends...

Some rumors of Bowles going after Dana Holgerson (Geno's coach at West Virginia)

Some rumors of Bowles going after Dana Holgerson (Geno's coach at West Virginia) Whoa boy! Not sure how I feel about that. On one hand I appreciate that they may be trying to do all they can to ignite Geno and make him a capable starter. But, unless Holgerson is truly an NFL-ready OC, acquiring him to essentially double-down on Geno may be a bad long term move if we move on from Geno Smith.

Would love to see the leagues media reaction if the Jets hired an OC before a HC.
