Bro with all due respect that is one warped line of thinking. And Rex will be out of a job for all of 24 hours.

Regardless of what the Dolphins defense is statistically, they never even looked Decker's way despite having one on one coverage with a brand new corner on him. They never utilized play action at all. Look back at everyone of G-Nope's drop backs, how many were obvious passing downs? And we all wonder why he wasn't successful. This is how Rex ruined Sanchez too. Anyone that is happy about how Rex called that game last night, doesn't realize that Rex is hindering the offensive development. The sooner he is gone, the better. And by the season' send, he will have all the media's sympathy while shifting all the blame on Woody and Idzick. I have to think that all the other GMs can see right through this and it's going to prevent Rex from ever getting another HC job.

Wat I was trying to say was the way Decker is playing there's no guarantee that he would have caught it.

Rex will not be a HC in the NFL again. Nice guy, great personality. Great experience as a defensive minding coordinator. But corrosive to his offensive players and most of his assistants.
No one will ever coach under him unless they have no other choice.
It was Schotty's fault. Sporano's fault. Now it's Marty's. Pettine landed on his feet and is winning with a sub par roster in Cleveland. In fact, an argument can me made that "Rex's" defense hasn't been the same since he left.

Handing the ball off the entire game was the best chance to win
Geno seriously is the worst QB I have ever seen playing for the Jets.
I'd take Brooks Bollinger in a hearbeat

Look I love Rex's personality as much as the next Jet fan, I will be forever grateful for those championship games and the passion he brought to this organisation, but the buck has to stop with Rex and it's finally his day of reckoning.
No one is saying that the gameplan of running the ball was wrong, however it's wrong when you do it at the ratio they did last night and it has no place at the pro level, you establish the run then exploit the one on one matchups when they commit to stoping it, the Jets had the matchups they wanted and never went after it.
So the excuse for this is that they had no faith in G-Nope, well that's fine, don't fuckin play him then. We never had any intention of winning that game, if they did then you start Vick and play run heavy but a little more balanced.
The whole idea of starting G-Nope was to evaluate what we have before deciding the direction in the offseason, Rex was saying he was looking forward to seeing how G-Nope responded then you go and call 8 pass plays, it just does not make sense.
Let's stop acting like Rex re-invented the wheel last night, every fuckin game plan they throw together is about establishing the run, sometimes it works like last night and New England, sometimes they get dominated like the Bills and Detroit, fact is the philosophy is always the same an it's out dated in today's NFL.
Rex stood there last night and again praised the players and coaches for executing a game plan that belongs in the 60's, both games against Miami and NE they rushed all over them yet LOST, why? Because the game has evolved yet Rex is to stubborn to realise his coaching style is getting left behind.
So what if we won 16-13 and the result had been the other way round, that's still not the way to play offense in this league, Gruden and every other team where laughing at this pathetic attempt for a pro offense yet Rex gets an alibi AGAIN because it the QB's fault when he decided to throw him back in for an "evaluation".
Great Defense last night but Rex is the grim reaper to offensive football and QB development, everyone gets a pat on the back for amassing 13 points, chewing the clock and hiding a QB. I watch other teams and we are a million miles away from becoming a mediocre offense yet the HC is never at fault.
That was a Rex Ryan team you watched last night, one dimensional, ugly, unproffesional, leather helmet football. What Rex does not realise is that even if you can rush on a team and chew 9 minute drives to get it in the endzone, other teams are not doin it back, they are passing and flipping field position and hanging points on teams in 3/4 plays. The Jets could have played for a month yet still would have struggled to put up 20 calling plays like that.
Oh and he's proud as usual and everyone did a great job. I will be sad to see him go but this is not just about last nights embarrassment to the pro game, I just can't tolerate another year of offense under Rex Ryan.
Would you really trust him and his staff to develop Mariota?

Correction: Rex Ryan has no interest in evaluating Geno
Rex gave a big F U to his GM last night by hiding Geno after he was urged to start him, IMHO....

This is not a personnel matter just applicable to last night, he's been "ground & pound" from the minute he coached here regardless of the talent level. I hate that fuckin phrase, it's no place in today's game and year after year there's an excuse for it. It's nice to run the ball like the Ravens and Hawks but they again are far more balanced in their approach then we are under Rex.

Seems like a big FU from Rex to idzik That's what I was saying. It's apparent this was Idziks move and Rex is being the good soldier playing Geno but Idzik doesn't design game plans.

Rex ran the ball with a rookie QB, the leagues number 1 running attack and the NFLs best D. Opened it up just a little in Sanchezs second season and tried to open it up in year three. He couldn't handle it. Didn't go overboard with the run in Genos rookie year or this season, yet people continue to harp on ground and pound. Because it worked with what he had.

This is what Woody gets for half-assing this whole GM & coach situation in the first place

It's become more and more obvious with each loss that the Jets need to do what it takes to secure Mariota in April.
You sure as shit have no interest in further developing Geno Smith if you're going to run the ball 49 times and only throw it 13 times in a meaningless game when you're sitting at 2-9.
And Vick sure as hell isn't the answer. I wouldn't even want him back as a stop gap next season. He doesn't seem interested at all. Wouldn't surprise me if he just decides to walk away at seasons end.
So who are you relying on next year? Some mediocre journeyman like Brian Hoyer who was just benched in favor of Manziel after another multi-INT performance? Matt Moore? Colt McCoy?
I'm all for bringing in someone like Bradford or Locker but that's under the plan of playing them for the first 6-8 games next year while a guy like Mariota starts the season on the bench.
There's no way that the Jets can wind up with a Top 3-5 pick and not walk away with what is in my mind the best QB prospect in the draft.
