If we dont take 1 of the 2 top rated QB's, would you be pissed if #7 is under center week 1?

I won't be pissed if he starts. I'd only be pissed if we didn't bring in a remotely competent QB at all to compete for the start job.

If we take one of the two top rookies I'd rather not see them start week 1.

No. I expect him to start at this point. If we make an effort to add pieces around him I'm willing to give him one more shot under the new coaching staff.
Now, if he sucks it up all pre-season, regresses further and has no competition to speak of that's somewhat of a different story.

If we take one of the two top rookies I'd rather not see them start week 1. I agree. Hopefully they don't make the same mistake they made with Sanchez and Geno. Let the rookie sit on the bench and learn. At this point, it's hard to imagine any QB that's available to start over Geno; maybe Cutler, maybe Fitzpatrick.

Whether I was upset would depend upon what transpires from now until then. No Jets QB developed into better than an interception machine in recent years (see Sanchez after a few games for the Eagles) and even though this could simply reflect our bad taste in draft choices, we will have a chance to find out more about Geno with a new coaching staff. It would be foolish to dump him before the new guys get to make an independent evaluation through the training camp process, meaning that he will get a shot.
What would upset me is if we didn't make a serious attempt to have a sensibly broad range of options leading into training camp. A free agent and a draft pick (not necessarily first round) should be there and (...brace for it...) trying to win the next QB competition. Hey, at least we'll have KRL reports to lift our spirits. (He does post here, right?)

I won't be upset if he's won the position out of a training camp competition that threw out a solid 2-3 QBs of what is available to us through the draft and FA.
I would rather not see another rookie start the season but on the other hand I'm not any more thrilled by the prospect of a rookie beating out Geno for the starting position but not start just because he's a rookie. I'm not sure a rookie really benefits from sitting a year watching a QB he outperformed. If we can't bring in somebody who could legitimately start out of FA and we burn a high draft pick on a QB then we ought to seriously pursue an older player on a one year deal to give a rookie (and Geno) somebody to learn from.
Ideally I would like to see us pursue Mallet or Moore and draft a rookie.

I fully expect Genocide to be the starter - there's absolutely crap out there in FA and we're not getting either of the top 2 QBs in the draft.
I don't expect him to finish the season as the starter though - hopefully we will picked up the qb of the future in the draft....yea like that's gonna happen...

It's slim pickings out there besides him so no I won't be mad. I won't make the mistake of expecting anything tho....

Yup. It would mean that Chan Gailey is a massive tool and that another season is being thrown away.

If Geno starts week 1 we will be 0 -1 and yes, I'll be pissed.
We seriously need to move on from this guy. QB league and we have a guy who ranks 29th of 30 in qualified QBR.
As most people I am sure we all hoped that he would show more promise last year, but I am done watching him make all the mental mistakes game after game.
