Reported by Ian Rapaport that Woody has already been having serious internal discussions with Maccagnan and Bowles about bringing back Revis and that they'll be "very creative" (whatever that means) in trying to lure him back.

Revis can chew a fat one.
I loved Revis as much as the next Jet fan but the day he slipped a cheats jersey on was the day any affection towards him died.
Now we want to creep back while he's parading around in his cheat ring not a month after dancing around with Kraft and the hoodie? Well fuck that.
We are expected to just forget the images of one of our best draft picks ever cementing his legacy with the enemy.
To much water under the bridge, let's not add insult to injury by giving this scumbag the satisfaction of our desperation. Go for Maxwell and Cro.

He was cut loose in Tampa, and then offered a Top 3 salary at his position on a Superbowl contending team. What would you do in that instance? I'd still take him back in a heartbeat, though I seriously doubt it happens.

I doubt this report is true, how creative do you have to be when you have 60 million in cap space? You either want him and pay him or you don't.

Chasing Revis is only going to help reinforce the Jets' brand perception as some type of desperate, second class organization. Even if we did overpay him 16 million a year to play for us, how motivated is he going to be at 30 on a surgically repaired ACL after having won a tainted championship? We might get one good year, and four more of an underperforming aged has-been who serves to constantly remind league observers that the Jets are always one step behind. No thanks.

I seriously doubt that Revis transforms from arguably the best CB in the league to some JAG in just one years time. And even when his play starts to deteriorate, I could still see him being a very effective safety similar to Rod Woodson late in his career.

Let's take a close look at this "report". This is Rapaport....who is "reporting" about the "report" filed by NFL.com writer Kevin Patra here: www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000475975/article/report-johnson-urging-gm-to-bring-revis-back-to-jetsPatra does not have any "sources", instead Patra is reporting on the "report" in today's Daily News: The Daily News article was written by.....you guessed it....Mehta. Mehta claims no sources for this story at all: So what you have here is a somewhat credible writer (and I use both of those terms lightly)- Rapaport, "reporting" on the "report" of a "report" written by that spineless weasle without any credited source. Hell - Mehta doesn't even bother to use the "unnamed source" credit.....just that the DN as "learned".

Look I understand he has a defense, and there's another side to the story, and i know this is a business with little sentiment. The whole holdout situation and his constant hard ball tactics pandering to him and his agents left a bitter taste in my mouth. The fact he opted to join the enemy and won the prize sickens me as a Jet fan. Why can't we just move on and get over it?

We see it every year, unsourced stories or tweets get picked up by supposed "NFL Insiders" that regurgitate it out to the masses.

Why can't we just move on and get over it? I'm more than fine with telling Revis to go fuck himself and chasing a Maxwell, Chris Harris or Kareem Jackson instead. But there's no doubt that Revis shits all over those guys and is still arguably the best at his position. A position where we happen to suck a bag of dicks and a position that is vital to the way Bowles likes to operate his defense. I still think Revis ultimately winds up back in New England, but I certainly wouldn't flip out if we brought back one of the few generational talents we've ever had who could take our defense back to a truly elite level.

We have been down this road way too many times. I still think Revis is a great player but in the grand scheme of things why pay a guy 16million a year when you can get two guys like Maxwell/Cromartie or Jackson/Culliver for less?
