Been thinking about this some... The number one thing this Jets staff can't do is miss on this 1st round pick. I don't trust an of the pass rushers, don't believe Mariota will be there.
With that, the safest, most logical pick (if hes there) is:
WR, Amari Cooper

I think a top 10 talent slides to almost, if not fully, into the 2nd round.
My prediction: Randy Gregory

Pass Rusher or WR
Very difficult since we have a new GM and HC, but I'm leaning towards WR

I am hoping we will pick either Cooper or White. I have a feeling the Jets will take Beasley or Gregory. I would be ok with Beasley but would be pissed if we took Dion Jordan 2.0 in Gregory. I also like Devante Parker if we happen to trade back a few spots which I doubt we trade down. I hear Miami wants to trade up for Parker or White but that is just Miami goofball chatter. It is Tanny however, it make sense Miami needs a young WR.

I'd be happy with Mariota, Cooper, White, Fowler or Beasley. Want nothing to do with Gregory, Ray, or Dupree at 6.

LOL I love how no players really wants to go to the draft in Chiraq. Should've stayed at Radio City stupids.

Who do you think will want to trade up with us once the QB's are gone? I think our best bet at that point would be someone who wants to get ahead of the Bears if Cooper or White is still on the board. Cleveland, KC, Miami (unlikely we would trade with a Division team), SD, St. Louis are all possible trading partners to get one of the top 2 WRs.

It is quite possible that either or both are available at 6. I would prefer the Jets to draft Beasley, but there are rumors that the saints love him.

If Williams drops, then I think we would almost certainly have options to trade the pick. I would be less certain about Beasley -- but I guess its a possibility. I am so confused about all the pass rushers, i have no idea how to rank them -- glad that it is Mac and Bowles making the decisions and not me (Jet fans should be pretty happy about that too).

That would be a win-win, because New Orleans needs defense more than we do and we need offense more than they do.

I think it will come down to Cooper vs Gurley vs Fowler... one or more may be off the board. Personally, i think that should read Parker vs Gurley vs Fowler, but i'll concede i'm in the minority.
There is no other player that is worth sliding into that discussion. The 2 QBs will go picks 1 and 2... then the fun starts.

If Jags take Fowler at 3, then that leaves Williams for the Raiders at 4. Redskins kind of a wildcard but I think they take Dupree as a surprise over Ray & Beasley. Leaving Cooper, White, Beasley & Ray there for our choosing. Hopefully we do the smart thing & take Cooper in that case. If the Jags take Williams, I can see Cooper being taken by the Raiders.

This new one seems to be doing some sensible things of late, enough to raise doubt about what they'll do. Having said that, he's too good for them to pass up.
