Is that really necessary? Seems like we have been drafting out of the Waterford catalog the past few years. It's a contact sport, people get hurt.

Not my favorite pick but he's not made of glass. Hopefully this is just a blip that happens too almost every player at some time......and luckily for us it happened early.

Pads are not even on yet, I spend most of camp worrying about injuries these days.

Not a big deal. Of course some SOJF are always going to whine, but he was going to have a limited role in the offense to begin with. He'll be back by the end of preseason/beginning of regular season.

Seems there's an early injury ever year, so not surprising. Was looking forward to seeing him in the preseason, but hopefully he's ready to go by week 1 at least.
We have a glut of unproven WRs, time for guys like Shaq Evans to make a case for themselves.

Considering this was first reported as a head/neck injury, broken ribs is relatively good news.

I don't think that this happening at the beginning of camp is necessarily a good thing. I would much rather have this happen at the end of camp after Smith got a ton of reps in camp. Smith needs a lot of work with his route running and missing all the reps he would have received in camp is not a good thing. Once the regular season starts the amount of reps teams run decreases significantly. I would actually rather he miss the first four games of the regular season than miss all of camp.

Huge loss. He was supposed to be a huge part of our revamped wr corps. Now we are stuck with an incomplete wr corps again. Season over on first day of camp. Should have taken that WV Wr with the first round pick. Jets r idiots. Again.

Sucks because now it's gonna be awhile to get him adjusted...he's basically losing out on ALL of his reps for the rest of camp. Will have to make tons of mental reps
Could have been worse though....

Also does not help that he missed mini-camp due to the birth of his child. He basically lost all of his offseason reps. On the bright side, at least its not the type of injury that can be chronic, once he recovers he should be fine.
