I don't know why everyone is so upset - this team was at best this year vying for the last WC position. If Fitz is out, go with Ge-nope. When (or if) we get knocked out of the playoffs - then you bring in Petty - no expectations or pressure on the kid and you see if what he can do - that way we'll know if we have to go for a qb again.

Jets are going to struggle playing from behind against any quality team and will struggle to win if the defense gets trampled.

There should be a Top Secret project at the Atlantic Health Center facility to prepare Bryce Petty as the 2016 starter. He's been in the organization for 6 months now. He has another 10 months before he'd need to start a game. They should be hooking him up to simulators, running him through the best mental and physical drills that a crack staff of QB experts and consultants can muster. He has shown he has all the tools to be a starting QB, he just needs the mental and physical reps. He needs training and preparation...hook him up to those VR simulators and load the plays and defenses he'd face, then have him go through progressions 5 days a week for the next several months. Get him into some December games if the Jets are out of Wild Card contention.
Rather than (or in addition to) focusing on drafting yet another young unknown QB, take the one you already traded up for and start building him into what you want in 2016. "Project Petty" should be the most important program at the facility.

Thanks for posting this. My daughter is in grad school at Baylor, so needless to say when the Jets drafted him we were pretty stoked.
