Maybe when he gets the playbook less than a week in advance and gains back more than 25lbs. he will be effective. I have a feeling he'll be much better at the start of next season than he is now.

Could he be any worse? I have never backed up any other first rounder that we discarded over the past 30 years. I only stick up for Coples because his career has been derailed because of Rex and his square peg/ round hole philosophy. And yes....he needs too gain back 25+pounds to play at his natural weight which is probably closer to 300-305 vs the 265 he is now.

I agree that he's not 290 anymore and needs to put on weight, but idk if he needs to hit 300+ to be effective. Hopefully getting cut helps him find the motivation he needs because he could be a Geno Atkins type DT (hopefully not against the Jets). I can't believe the Dolphins picked him up off waivers. For a player that lacks drive Miami has to be one of the worst spots for him. Hopefully next year he goes to a team that has a coach that will ride his ass, because he can still be a very good player.

Fours years after he was drafted he should easily be able too handle 305 but our coaching staff asked him to cut 25 lbs. which he did. He needs a full offseason to put the weight on positively and played in the right position. Inside in a 4-3.

I just wouldn't want him to lose his quickness off the snap. Even at 290 he was a pretty good run stopper

I 100% forgot him wreaking havoc. 5.5 sacks as a rookie with limited snaps playing on the interior of the line. There were many times he lined up as a NT rusher and got the job done. That's pretty damn good and even you have to admit that. How many interior lineman in the NFL have that type of success as a rookie? Please enlighten me.
