King is an idiot, but maybe he's heard something. It's all about what the Jets are looking for. If Big Mac has his sights set on a QB, the next step is for him to rank them, and I think Cook has taken a beating ever since the captaincy thing. I really like him, but I'm not Big Mac. I'm with you, Cook is a gamer, he might be a dick but so are Brady, Rivers and Cutler etc. this whole Lynch link could be a smokescreen so teams fill their QB needs and Cook falls straight into our laps. Welcome to Club Cook. It's lonely here, but we'll crack open a cold one and have a laugh when he's a Jet.

Kinda weird the Jets only drafted 2 QBs in the 1st round in the past 16 years with Pennington and Sanchez. After that you have to go back to Richard Todd.
You'd think with such shitty QB situation we would have taken more shots.

He's gonna be a steal for someone.

On my phone so can't post any tweet but Ian Rapoport just reported that it sounds like we're targeting WR in round 1. Names to watch is Doctson & Fuller. I prefer Treadwell but we'll see what happens.

He's gonna be a steal for someone. He's already been through the pressure and scrutiny at Mich St that will serve him well a a high pick QB. Hackenberg very similar. The others didn't have to live up to the pressure that these two did. and obtw, he has a quick release, and actually stays in the pocket instead of running out of it.

Seems like Lynch will go highly soley because Goff & Wentz will go 1 & 2 after those trades. 49ers GM now talking that Kap can be traded this week, there's a Lynch destination. Browns still need a QB, that's another & Rex is still in front of us. Who knows if a team behind us is more desperate & is willing to trade up for Lynch. I guess Mac isn't getting the offers he feel is right for Mo. We'll see. This usually happens the day before the draft.

(I'll preface this by saying I don't know shit about shit but)... I like Cook too, for all the same reasons; Senior, 3 yr starter, etc. If that is who they are targeting, it would appear they could even drop back a few spots, grab and extra pick and still get him, no? Or, if he's their guy, do you not mess around with shit like that?

My two cents on Cook -- for whatever it might be worth. One thing I want to see out of a QB, especially a guy who has started 3 years in college is improvement. I loved Cook after his sophomore year. During the season last year, I was hoping he would come out last year when we were at 6. I have really wanted to like him -- I have watched a lot of MSU games hoping to like the kid, big arm, pro system, etc, but I don't like what I have seen. I just can't get behind him as a pick for the Jets. Here are his numbers from MSU. He has had 3 years as a starter with a great coaching staff and has shown little to no improvement. Not a guy I am excited about.

MSU had lots of talent and he didn't elevate a lot of it.

I saw him play in person in 2014 during the full on Connor Cook hype and even though he threw for 300+ that day, I was less than impressed.

Connor Cook or Hackenberg, who y'all got? It makes me sick to say it, but Hackenberg. I've actually recently started warming up to the possibility of him in RD 2. He has shown the best "glimpses" of anyone in this draft, in my opinion. He showed some of the worst too. I just can't figure out which is more true, Freshman Hackenberg with good WRs, a decent OL and O'Brien. Or the other 2 years with an abysmal OL, less weapons, and a X's and O's challenged Franklin.
