Thanks for calling me dickhead. I too have family with cognitive challenges which is why I try to not use language that's too demeaning... I also have a gay mother in law if you can believe that. Doesn't stop posters from using faggot every turn of the way, or inserting gay into every post. It's nice to know that slander is up to the your subjective agenda tho. Thanks. Likening gays to people with cognitive challenges? Also, I don't think you know what slander is. I prefer if this didn't snowball, so I'll respectfully adhere to your request - however I implore to be consistent. You don't get choose which demographic of marginalized people you're suddenly gonna grow a bleeding heart for. You may or may not have someone close to you that has had to deal with that particular challenge, but the guy next to me whose brother may have died of Parkinsons, or the gay jets fan here who gets to read the word fag daily - it doesn't matter. You champion for one group - you champion them all... otherwise you just come across as having a heavy flow day.

The Petty fan club is nearing Ratliff-esque levels of benign worship.... And that's cool I guess. Most of his fans appear to have only watched his YouTube highlight videos. He's CFL quarterback. Anyway I hope I'm wrong, but I'm probably not. If you're speaking about me, I have no such thoughts about Petty. I am one of those guys that needs to see things to believe them. But let's face it, your "benign worship" of Lynch was filled with pure unadulterated over-emotional fandom. You were all in to trade up to the top 5 to get him and all but guaranteed he was going top 5. Instead, we could have traded back 5 spots to get him. So maybe being a little less condescending to others might be a good idea. Let's face it, we all all just fans who likes to play weekend GM. I wasn't speaking to anyone in particular - but you're right, everything right now is steeped in 75% speculation. But, there's some weight obviously to certain "positions" on players/situations... Petty's perceived ability is based on little more than hope. There's nothing tangible or empirical that he's provided us with to say - HEY! That guy... he might be something. I hope to god he is, because the more options at QB, the better.. but it's not looking great. We'll see. I find the Geno/Fitz dynamic presently 10x more interesting

I, too, would prefer this didn't snowball. But don't feed me any "love everyone" nonsense. We all have our biases and to claim otherwise is disingenuous. Not that I have a thing against fags. My sister, a gay NYPD detective who is legally married to a woman, would argue that in my favor. Let's just agree to disagree and go back to how wrong you are about this year's draft. :-O Jets buddies for life?

I think it matters that Petty is only 7 months younger than Smith and has 1 year in the NFL as the third string QB while Geno has 2 years as a starter and 1 as a back-up due to injury. I've got to think that Petty would have to outplay Smith significantly for the Jets to consider keeping Petty over Smith. Sorry to requote the whole thing but I'm on my phone. You said that if Petty didn't significantly outplay Geno, you think he will be gone. But if Geno doesn't outplay Petty, isn't that a major indictment on his ability? Anyway, I think we are getting way ahead of ourselves anyway. Nobody saw Geno being an idiot last year and getting his jaw broken. So Mac has little incentive to cut any of them until camp ends. And by the time camp is over, a lot could change. Mac and Bowles have had a year to look at Geno and they don't seem overly impressed with him. They think that a QB who has had a history as a mediocre QB and shit the bed in the most important game of his career is still a better option than Geno. And to me, thst speaks volumes about how they feel about him. Now that doesn't mean they don't view him as a serviceable backup. But time will tell. another factor is that genot will not be a jet next season regardless. this is his last season before hitting free agency. i suppose they could offer him a contract but if he does perform he's probably going to ask for the moon and the stars. petty has some value past this season.

Like a life sentence? Because we all are serving time for that. Something like that. Perhaps shakin could provide some color on the topic given his recent time in prison. Dude's asshole is so loose now, we can jam it in limp.

Excellent breakdown of Hackenberg -- the good, the bad and the ugly -- by Matt Waldman of Rookie Scouting Portfolio. Not a fluff piece like Gruden's camp. Too long and too many videos to embed here, but link is below. mattwaldmanrsp.com/2016/05/02/christian-hackenberg-declarations-and-hesitations/Excerpts from the piece are below. It is worth the time to take a look with the video clips that Waldman uses to illustrate both strengths and weaknesses.
