And the point of my question was...the "gun owner" of US changing. Carrying is changing. People who carry now (as compared to your career) are not as well educated on gun safety, I think we can agree, no? Was wondering from LEO perspective how much harder this makes their job. How many calls of..."I see a suspicious guy and he has a gun." If your in a fight and hear the word "gun" you cant exactly think, gee I wonder if he's a good guy or a bad guy...the mere presence of a gun changes everything. I'm not sure where you are getting this bullshit but Concealed Weapon Permits are only issued to law abiding citizens that have gone through training and background checks. The training part obviously varies by state but all of the background checks are done on a federal level. Since you think CWP holders of today are not as informed with the use or privilege of even carrying a gun maybe you could back that up by statistics. I'm willing to bet my ass that the incidents of gun violence are almost non existent when it comes to folks that legally carry firearms. I'm also willing to bet that most LEO's favor the right of law abiding citizens being able too carry concealed weapons. At least the ones I know are for it.

Mom in Walmart, woman in Home Depot, kid in back seat of car, I could go on and on, but your missing the point anyway. I understand that traditionally gun owners have been responsible. I'm simply saying the increase may be problematic. I have my doubts that the upcoming generation will be as resonsible as the past one, and training will be lessened or eliminated as politicians pander to constituents. I was simply asking 32s opinion on it as a LEO. My question was about the future, so no, I don't have statistics.

And now we have the Minn.incident. Young black man, licensed to carry...shot reaching for his wallet sitting on passenger seat.
This is what I'm talking about, the more we carry, the more LEO have to worry about.
He had no record. Was responsible.
This one is going to be a lot harder to make sense of.
im gonna guess this poor cop isn't glad this guy carried.

I can tell you right now, it's not only black people who, if they carry, have to worry about this. Same is true in other states. If you carry in your car (legally) and you get pulled over, it's a tough decision to tell the cop if you have a gun.. most won't because the cop won't find it, and if you tell them, you're going to go through the grinder.

Again...you are basing your opinion on what the girlfriends version was...unverified early tidbits of info from a frothing media...and an obviously alarming vid that shows nothing more than the guy bleeding. For the record, when I'm stopped by the cawps (it happens)...I keep my hands on the steering wheel or dashboard until I'm directed otherwise from the cawp...I'd like to know why the passenger on a car stop was reaching for his wallet as well. Entirely possible the cawp fvcked up...or the guy didnt follow directions...we cant tell from the clip we just saw. I'll wait until more info becomes available before I judge this one as well.

Hundreds of concert goers get trashed. Fights break out. Dozens are sent to the hospital. Rap concert? Nope. Kenny Chesney show. Yet the actions of these thugs have been swept under the rug, with barely a peep from the media. Fuck everyone. Chesney concert

You've lived a sheltered life VTN IFrom the name, I was picturing something roll-like in nature, like a braciole or rollatini or something. Those don't look very roll-y. More like pizza pillows. I guess you could say I've lived a sheltered life - i don't shop in those center aisles, ever. Those don't look like very dangerous weapons either - unless you eat them. They got pointy corners, so one could poke their eye out. Ask Orlando Brown. Of course his was being hit by a refs flag. What's a braciole (A spanish bra? ) or a rollatini?

I heard about it and read about it in NY. I saw Chesney and McGraw a couple summers back at MetLife... summertime, lots open early, its a more drunken shitshow than an NFL game to be honest. Lots of young drinkers, girls scantily clad, getting sick and getting in fights. Not surprised at all.

Stumble back after nickle-night-beers alone because the girl you spent all night trying to get back to your dorm went back to another dude's dorm. Open fridge, find Totino's Cheese Pizza Rolls, nuke entire family sized bag of Totino's Cheese Pizza Rolls, smother in your secret stash of stolen "hot" taco bell sauce, and drunkenly aim for your mouth while unconsciously watching Family Guy.
I miss college.

I can never know as much as you do about this that's for sure, my point is..I dont know...I wasnt there...and neither were millions of others who are weighing in on this and are desperate to make it a racial lynching based upon some vids....We've seen false narratives fall before...recently with Michael Brown where the initial hands up dont shoot narrative turned out to have been a fleeing felon robber high on drugs (who had attacked a defenseless store owner... then attacked a cop)...the Feds were dying to turn that into a racially motivated assassination and couldnt do it. How about Marilyn Mosby now facing disbarment over her handling of the Freddie Gray case? At this point I have more faith in the local law enforcement conducting their own investigations than I would in the FBI or our Justice Dept.

But its not going to make major news television because frankly a bunch of drunken rednecks doesnt produce the same ad revenue as a black person getting shot by police does.
