Do not agree with this statement. Not saying he's great, good, decent, or dogshit, but plenty of teams dont just take a rookie and "throw him out there".

I think there is nothing wrong with us FINALLY trying to develop a qb...you know, like most successful teams do. I know people around here aren't used to us doing that but it's a refreshing change. He still might wind up being an overcooked turd but I think the approach is the right one.

His biggest drawback was his mechanics/footwork and we don't even have the guy working on it. What a dumpster fire.

Majority of fans want instant gratification. Last year Bowles and Mac were great. This year they suck and know nothing. I have no issue with them letting Hack sit and learn. Lets up grade OL this off season and then put him out there and see what he can do.

Honestly, why do they even conduct these press conferences in the first place? The coaches always keep on their poker faces and almost never give us any meaningful answers. I think the exercise is mostly a giant waste of time.

I'm so pissed off that they haven't been working on this since day one.

I appreciate the patience some of you are preaching. I just don't think it's well invested this go-round,

Honestly, I am at the point where I don't care if we have a mediocre quarterback. We made 2 championship games with Sanchez. Just load up on the offensive line (like we did from 2008-2010), draft a stud RB (which we should be able to this year) and have large receiving targets that catch anything thrown in their neighborhood. I'm done waiting for the next Joe Namath to walk through the door.

With all the other CURRENT issues we have setting aside time to work with a third/fourth string QB during the season isnt a priority, nor should it be.

Just a thought for those who havent considered this.........
This kid did show some potential until he was put in a bad system behind a swiss cheese offensive line. After which he spent most of his time running for his life, it stunted his development and he looked like shyt. He went from a potential top 5 pic to people suggesting that the Jets shouldnt have drafted him until the third or fourth round.
If you have watched the games this year and I assume you have.....why would ANYONE want to put him behind ANOTHER swiss cheese line when we already know how that will impact his progress? If the coaching staff did that then you could honestly say they are repeating a dumb ass mistake that we saw didnt work before. If there is one thing this coaching staff got right this year it was not putting this skittish kid behind the gateway we call an offensive line.
Draft or sign some good lineman and this team starts to look a LOT better. The running game will look better, the WR's will look better, and yes my friends the QB will look better. Until this kid can stand on his own, the only shot at him not being a bust is to not rinse and repeat by putting him in a position where bigger, stronger, faster, meaner people are now chasing him and he has even less time to process what the defense is showing him. It's a recipe for disaster.
Now don't take this post to mean I an a Hack supporter, but I do know that if he has any shot it isnt behind the line we currently have.
drops the mic....

And why do you think they aren't working him out and working on his mechanics? The Jets said so. They said they were going to wait until this off season to address it. It's been posted on the board before.
