I hated Hackenberg going into the draft and my wife had to stop me from throwing the remote control when the pick was announced (I'm serious). Your wife actually watches the draft with you? My wife thinks it is probably the stupidest thing I do every year -- sitting for hours on end over the course of 3 days watching the draft. Every year I hear something like "You know, you can just log on to any sports site tomorrow and in a few minutes you will know everything that happened without wasting an entire weekend. I married an idiot." And that is saying a lot considering how many stupid things she thinks I do every year.

She was in the living room when the pick was announced.

I hated Hackenberg going into the draft and my wife had to stop me from throwing the remote control when the pick was announced (I'm serious). That being said, I've literally watched every tape of his on draft breakdown (many twice). Hackenberg's biggest problem is his feet. In the shotgun or when he is under pressure, the balls is flying all over the place. Do I think he is going to pan out? No. That being said, if you surround him with good talent and he just drills the fuck out of his mechanics in the offseason (and during the regular season), I think he can eventually be a Kerry Collins type of QB. The kid is by all accounts a hard worker and his teammates thought enough of him to name him team captain as a true sophomore. I'd like to see him be able to challenge for the starting job next year, I'm not going to waste multiple seasons grooming him. I was in a Mexican restaurant with a bunch of folks and I asked them to put the draft on the telly, having watched round 1 at home the night before. I became apoplectic when the pick was made, immediately started ordering shots of anejo tequila. Had to go into the parking lot for a few mins to gather myself. Geez I wouldn't have drafted him in any round. And he's a good kid - not like that punk Geno- so I'm rooting for him but not holding out any hope. _

She was in the living room when the pick was announced. My brother-in-law (Giants fan) went to Penn State. After the pick was announced, I asked her to text her brother. One word. Hackenberg?. His response -- only the Jets. And this was a guy who thought we had a steal when we took Kyle B.rady (word substitution algorithms can drive me crazy sometimes on this site).

Just out of curiosity how is Paxton Lynch doing? Serious question, o haven't been keeping up I watched Den-Jax today for the sole purpose of watching Lynch. He was pretty erratic with his throws. Lot of arm talent and athletic, the announcers mentioned that footwork was a big issue and he needs a lot of work there due to coming out of the spread in college. Also, when his footwork isn't what it should be there is a lot of him to target at 6'7" and they did. He's not built at all like Roethliesberger, no one bounces off him once they get hands on him. All that said, I wouldn't project that he won't make it. Denver has excellent coaches who can coach a kid up. We have none. This is really the first year where I don't even have dreams of who we can get with a high draft pick. Why? It doesn't matter. Our organization is such garbage from top to bottom, it makes no difference where we draft. They've blown the 2nd Rd pick at about a 95% run rate over the last 20 years haha....just one of the most brutal organizations in any sport.

Actually, I preferred Connor Cook, but I have no problem with Hack. Just a gut feeling that if they take their time with him, coach him up, he will be a good QB.

You have no fuckin clue, kid! best to demand a trade And I've been watching this team for decades, that have gone quickly, and this is really the first time that I've opened my eyes all the way and come to the conclusion that nothing will make a difference with this team, Dan Marino wouldn't have been Dan Marino if they did the right and obvious thing to draft him in 83. Our owner is a billionaire, the team is worth over a billion dollars now, and 2 years ago he actually left the team without a Secondary haha. The 20 Mill under the Cap they were went right into his cheap pockets. Watch he'll never hire a real Head Coach, costs a lot more than going with some coordinator as a rookie Head Coach. I hope a lot of fans show up tomorrow night with bags on their heads or better yet don't show up at all on a Nationally televised game. This guy is the black sheep of the Johnson and Johnson family, they bought him a billion dollar toy, the Jets, to keep him as far away from f**king up their company as possible....but he doesn't like being embarrassed.

Cook is another inaccurate QB but he's twice the player Hack is. Problem is, he's a jerkoff. Wanted nothing to do with him either. At least Hack is a good kid. _
