Adam Schefter @adamschefter 2m2 minutes ago Jets bringing back Texans dir of college scouting Mike Maccagnan for 2nd GM interview, per league sources. 1st candidate for 2nd interview. Maccagnan and Quinn early next week sounds feasible.... Anyone know the rules as far as hiring personnel that's still in the playoffs? I think they can commit to the position but it wouldn't be official until they are out of the playoffs.

Verbal or unofficial commitments with the Jets, while others have a chance to nip at his heels until after the Super Bowl (worst case), seem pretty tenuous to me.

I think if we are going for quinn its going to be either the dude from Seattle, or Tampa.

As I said in another thread, having a 2nd or 3rd time around HC is not a bad option of paired with the right GM, and the right organization. it may be fair to say that Woody might be turning this organization around. The Casserly and Wolf assistance he went out to get is, at the very least, an indication of that.
I'd be fine with a Maccagnan/Kubiak hiring. But would prefer Bowles or Quinn.

Not so much the Marrone smearing that occurred before the interview about how he left the Bills, but that the Jets were underwhelmed with him compared to others they interviewed. Sorry for the speculation, but I don't have any more info than that. Anyone hear of any specifics? I'll be honest, that's why I started to get off the Marrone bandwagon a little bit. I didn't mind him leaving the Bills the way he did, but I was disappointed when I heard his interview did not go well.
