So we have a guy who wasn't a successful NFL HC after leaving the Jets for another 6 years after he left. Then we have a guy who never coached the Jets as HC in BB. I am really not worried about a guy leaving our team having significant success someplace else.

I get that a lot of people like Rex's personality and are sad to see him go, but Jesus Christ...
Let's stop acting like the Jets are committing the NFL error of the 21st Century by letting go of a coach who missed the playoffs the last 4 years in a row.
Rex Ryan is a quality defensive coach, but the guy is still one of the worst gameday coaches in the league. His clock management skills make me yearn for the days of Herm and Dick Curl and he has this team routinely come out totally flat and unprepared coming off a bye week or a big win. It's like the only team that we consistently come out and play tough is the Pats****. He's also shown that he's totally incapable of surrounding hilmself with quality offensive coaches to oversee that side of the ball. And everyone likes to say that Rex is the master of confusing QB's like SparklePony and Peyton, but it's basically a fucking wash when you allow journeyman QB's like Kyle Orton, Matt Moore, Ryan Fitzpatrick, etc to routinely tear YOU'RE defense a new asshole.
If Rex gets the ATL job, the I wish him all the best.
But it was certainly time for us to part ways.

Maybe Rex will look himself in the mirror before taking a new job.... I'll always be a Rex fan, and I'll root for him wherever he goes(except for in the division) but it was clear his time here had to come to an end....

imo atlanta is the best place for rex to land. they have a very good qb and offense and it wouldn't take long to get the defense up to speed. they also play in a pretty weak division and blank seems to be a pretty patient owner. finally atlanta is way closer to clemson than the other potential teams so rex will be close to his son.

He is now the assistant GM for the Falcons. He was with NBC before taking the Falcon job at the beginning of the 2014 season.
