If I was Clady I'd retire. He's always injured. If I was the Jets I'd try to sign Riley Rieff. He's 28/29 so he should have a few good years left and not cost too much. Rieff was never a very good Tackle. Decent in the right side and will probably find work there -- but he was a better candidate at Guard I thought. But what do i know At this point, Whitworth is my #1. He's reliable, won't cost a king's ransom -- and gives us 2 years to figure out who the long term option is. I'd be fine with Whitworth. He's a lot older, but I'm not counting on needing either of them for more than 2 years.

I'm thinking Rieff will be expensive. With a few cuts it won't matter. We can easily afford him and he's probably the best option if we want to protect our young QB. Hopefully we can give him a Gilchrist type deal where he's easily cut after 2 years. I doubt that we'd have to give him a lot of guaranteed money since the Packers cut him before the season. Reiff never played for the Packers -- he has always been with the Lions. You may be thinking of Josh Sitton who the Packers cut before the season.

Then I really doubt he gets a big deal. I just hope he's serviceable.

Taking an Alabama cornerback in the top 10 again might make me lose my lunch. Unfortunately, I think there is a decent possibility that will happen.
There are 4 guys who play CB or RB that could go in the Top 15. I could see the Jets picking one of them unless something strange happened and a guy like Garrett dropped to them.

I love him, but all the draft sites I read have Tabor and Humphrey as 1/2. Also I think most have Jamaal Adams in the 5-10 range. Anyways, I know you're a Cook fan like me, but I think we go Fournette.

One possible FA LT is Kelvin Beachum. The Jets pursued him last offseason and he may be a cap cut by Jacksonville.

Humphrey isn't my favorite, but he's much better than Millner. The sadistic side of me kind of wants the Jets to take him so I can watch everyone freak out.

Matt Khalil in Minnesota may be an option as well at LT. He has been up and down performance wise, and injuries have been an issue.
If the price isn't too prohibitive, he's exactly the type of player a rebuilding team should take a chance on, in my opinion. If he gets back on track, he's more than a stopgap. If he doesn't, move on in a year or two.

So, here is the scary part. Not onlyl is this considered a bad year for OT in the draft, but it is also a bad year for Free Agents. Here is the current list of 2017 FA Left Tackles:
Andrew Whitworth Matt Kalil Riley Reiff William Beatty Bradley Sowell Jake Long Benjamin Ijalana Tony Hills Mike Adams Nick Becton David Quessenberry
Not a lot of options beyond the first three.

Next year will be brutal, but at least young players will be playing. I just want to see them play hard. I will consider that a win and we can build on it.

As for humphrey, i don't want to say he's a product of the defense he's on, but there's moments that bother me. A little stiff maybe? WSH's touchdown yesterday was prime example. Nobody's perfect, but gut says overrated.

Anybody notice we started this game with 3 guards and 3 tackles and Fitz was still under pressure? Plus Mangold is probably gone, from disgust more than anything.
Oline Oline Oline and Oline.
then pick up glamour positions in free agency.
