On the plus side, Broncos players and fans seem to love the guy and rate him as a coach. I've seen posts from Denver journalists saying that he is ready for the step up.
On the downside, he has never had primary responsibility for designing a scheme or calling a game. He has no experience in developing a young QB.
But, despite initial scepticism from many (including me) former RB coach Anthony Lynn did fine when stepping up to OC, and look where he is now.
If he gets the gig, I will support him, but it wouldn't be the appointment I was hoping for.

That actually makes more sense.....even though it makes no sense cause it seems like he sucked at that too In life sometimes an individual gets an interview for a job he or she will never get. Has no one ever seen someone get an interview as a favor? Problem with that is no other names have been mentioned with regards to interviews for the job. A little disturbing.

Not surprising to see that the Jets OC job isn't highly coveted. But you would think that since the Jets have known since the beginng of the season that Gailey was leaving, that they would have had some candidates lined up. I'm not sure it even really matters who the OC will be next year, seems likely to be a one and done type of job right now. If thats true then they should hire someone down the block at Dunkin Donuts. Who wants a job, when it's a one and done deal. Im not disagreeing with you. It's just so mind boggling.

It's why i think we should concentrate on building up our defense this year. In 2018, we get our QB, WR, RB. Maybe take a flyer on Joe Mixon this draft. Let him rehabilitate himself for a year and see what happens

Truth is a guy like Studesville is about as good as can hope for. The McCoys of the world aren't coming here to work under a lame duck coach with a trainwreck at QB. This is the least attractive landing spot in the league for a coach with any pedigree.
They may as well just promote Dorrell.

I don't like it but the Jets offense is so decimated nobody who is well known like Norv Turner is going to come here. This what happens when you don't take any offensive players in the first round since 2009 this what happens when you don't invest some of your high end draft picks on some offensive players.

I agree that no established well thought of OC is coming to the Jets for obvious reasons.
And uncharacteristically of me, I am fine with that. I'm all for tanking next season, completely unexcited for the 2017 Jets. I hope they can cut away the dead wood and bring in some young talent to build around and then be positioned to get one of the premiere QB prospects in 2018.

Well since he has experience as a RB coach, we'll have a better chance at selecting Leonard Fournette with him as an OC. Lol

Problem with that is no other names have been mentioned with regards to interviews for the job. A little disturbing. I'm not overly concerned, they didn't have a real shot with the best/obvious candidates. They need to cast a wide net, interview a bunch of position coaches, and find themselves a diamond in the rough. Anyone can hire the obvious coordinator. Let's see if Bowles, et al. can find a good hire where no one else knew to look.
