Of course, there is always the chance that the Jets have their eye on a guy who is still coaching in the playoffs.
QB coaches like Randy Fichtner (Steelers), Alex Van Pelt (Packers), Matt LaFleur (Falcons) could all be options, as could the Pats TE coach Brian Daboll who also has Jets ties.
Not sure of the contract situation of each of those guys, but maybe the Jets have an eye on one of them.
LaFleur may get the OC gig in Atlanta or follow Shanahan as his OC, and we would never get permission to interview Daboll unless he happens to be out of contract. But Fichtner and Van Pelt could be in play, and both look like potentially good options.

Unlike what the scumbags on this forum think, the Jets have a GREAT situation and any OC would be damn glad to have a chance to build their legacy in the best city in the world.

Nobody wants the Job imagine starting out as OC with no QB aging WRS and a OL that has no LT no way anybody with half a brain would walk into this mess.

Not much of a surprise. Might be the best we can hope for, given Bowles' status and the current roster. At least he has experience and apparently likes Hack. Not the most exciting name, but would be a solid hire. Cimini also says there is interest in current Saints WR coach John Morton, who had a stint as OC at USC under Pete Carroll.

Have you always been this Jetsrepulsion-y? I seems like this is a new development. No, I haven't but I can see when people don't have any clue what they are doing, and after we miss out on every good free agent who only uses us to get a better contract, along with not being able to hire competent management and coaching, to the horrendous and insulting PR dept, and the nail that broke the coffin- refusing to bench Shitpatrick and thus wasting NEXT year too not knowing wtf is going on with any of these QBs they draft... for seemingly no reason. Hashman gets it...this is PRECISELY where I've been since the Monday Night Massacre in Arizona. Mark my words, we won't be shit until at least 2019, if not 2020. Good times. Save yourselves the time and heartache over the next few years and do meaningful things with your life during the 3 hours you would have been watching this garbage franchise.

Actually this is MUCH better than the constant leaks to the press about every fucking move we make before we made it. I dont know what the plan is and I am thrilled that it isnt all over the media.........for a change. It actually somehow feels more...professional than what's gone in in the past. Fans don't need to know about every single phone call and email that gets made/received. _ It's very easy to keep shit quiet when calls are placed, but not returned. Let's face it, we got NOTHING. No one wants to come here and dammit, I don't blame them one bit.

It actually makes probably the most sense too. It's been rumored they want a run first OC. Check that box. He has worked with Hackenberg and gotten the best out of him that anyone has. Check that box. He's guided an offense in Houston with Big arm, low accuracy QBs. So even if they bring in Glennon, nothing as far as "fit" would change. It's not a splashy name, but it actually makes sense to me.

The story was he was familiar with him as a prospect, and encouraged O'Brien to recruit Hack to Penn State. From memory, Godsey was never on the PSU staff. Anyway, I still think he could be a solid hire. Apparently likes our young QB prospect, has knowledge of the O'Brien system that so suited Hack in college, and has good experience both as an OC and as a coach at a number of positions including QB, RB and TE.
