This makes me think it's more likely the Jets will select Deshaun Watson with the 6th pick....or a trade down and still select him.....cut ties with Petty and let Watson watch for a year and battle it out in 2018 with Hackenberg....then they'll say goodbye to McCown and pick up another QB in next year's class and have three young QBs on the roster.

Fournette (sp?) is a much better RB than Watson is a QB

Fournette (sp?) is a much better RB than Watson is a QB That is true but we need to resolve the QB situation first before addressing the future RB.

None of these QBs are worth a top 10 pick.

None of these QBs are worth a top 10 pick. Agree. I don't get the love of Watson in the 1st round. Honestly, I don't want to even trade back and take him. Of Trubinsky for that matter. I prefer the status quo. Build the team this year and see how the young QBs do. Also, I want to see how Mac drafts this year. If he does very well, let him draft a QB next year. If not, let the new GM do it.

Fournette (sp?) is a much better RB than Watson is a QB Just about any of the top players at any position (except OT) are better than the top QB in this draft. Any team that drafts a QB in the Top 10 is passing on a better football player in order to stretch for a need. Taking a QB at #6 would be selecting a prospect with the hopes he becomes a starter. It wouldn't be selecting a guy who everyone sees as a lock to be a NFL starter. We already have prospects (Hack, Petty). What we need is a close to sure thing. There is none in this draft. We should take the best RB, best TE, best CB or best S that we can at #6 because all are better than the best QB (whoever that may be). The only argument I might buy is the following.... IF the Jets do not want to put all their eggs in the Hack basket AND they aren't sure they'll get a top QB in next year's draft THEN I could see them considering dumping Petty and replacing him with a QB like Trubisky, etc. on the idea that the Jets have a better chance of the QB dart landing on bullseye in 2017 with Hack / Trubisky learning under McCown than Hack / Petty learning under McCown. I still don't like the idea but the idea I truly hate is having 4 QBs. So, if the Jets go QB at 6 it had better mean Petty is gone....even though I think Petty still deserves more time.

Just look at Dallas last year. Reach for Watson who is nothing more than Geno 2.0 over a RB with superstar potential would show Mac should not be GM why not draft Fournette bulk up the OL and give Hackenberg a shot next year's QB class is much better.

That is some hard hitting investigative journalism right there. Maybe. _

If the Jets draft a QB early then there's almost no doubt in my mind that Petty is goner.
