Yeah, I'm not a fan of letting Decker go now. I don't know what Hack is but why would you take his best weapon away. So u can tank... Duh.. Gotta be all in...

With our luck we will go 0-16 and so will two other teams. End up with the 3rd pick & the 2 best QBs taken before our pick.

You guys really think this is "tanking done right"...? It's one thing to move aside the old guard in lieu of the new blood... but we're not exactly doing great at WR. Thrusting Hansen/Steward into leading roles is... risky. I dunno. I'd like it if we had more promising youth to lean on. Completely agree. Guys like Harris and Decker are role models for younger players. Probably the two best character guys we had on the team that were actually good players. Also makes it nearly impossible to fairly evaluate any QB we have on the roster. I agree with the removal of the "old guard". Get rid of guys in leadership roles who have played for multiple other coaching staffs. You want young guys whose only knowledge of how things are done in the NFL is what they learn as a Jet. What you don't want is veterans in leadership roles questioning anything. If this is going to work, everyone has to be on the same page, and one way of doing that is removing players who have other "pages" they may reference. This is exactly what Jimmy Johnson did with the Cowboys. That translated into 3 Superbowls. I fully expect Richardson and Forte will no longer be on the team before the end of the season (maybe even before the end of training camp if another team develops a need as a result of an injury). Frankly, even though I hate the Patriots, I think Mac should call to let them know that Forte is available if they have an interest.

As soon as Harris was gone, you knew this was a possibility. MetLife will be a ghost town during a Jets games this year. Really making my decision on whether to get Sunday Ticket this year much easier.

Is it possible to have Hack play well enough to convince everyone he is the future, while still finishing with a record "good" enough to get us a top 3 pick? Then we can get a haul of picks like the Rams did for the RG3 pick, and already have a QB of the future? (Too optimistic? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )

And Bowles really hasn't shown us much either.

Forte must feel like crap. Probably will go into the office tomorrow & beg to find a trade. Unfortunately there is not much of a market for 31+ year old RBs whose production has dropped 4 years in a row.

I'd assume all the teams rumored to be looking at Maclin might be interested in Decker as well. Ravens, Cardinals, Bills, etc.

They had a great WR, #1 pick QB and #1 pick RB. They also go a million draft picks in the Herschel Walker trade and chose stellar players. They were smart, had a plan and went for it. Our GM is a big dope who can't hit on any draft picks and doesn't pick high round offensive playmakers. Jets are more like the Lions from 10 years ago (post barry sanders), except the jets take DL and CB/S every year rather than WR.
