Don't worry boys, our Jets will catch lightning in a bottle and go 6-10 and fuck up the draft for us.......AGAIN. Win the last 3 games and take that momentum into 2018!

Hopefully this means that we will/might be able to get something for him

Hopefully this means that we will/might be able to get something for him This is where Mac fucked up. He should have never told Decker he was going to cut or trade him. After he was medically cleared he should have played this close to the vest and not told anyone we were interested in moving him. Wait for a couple of TC injuries and someone would have come knocking. Now Gm's will just wait out the fucking idiot because he annouced to the world his master plan. For all of Macs "genius" moves ( haven't seen one yet), the guy is fucking idiot when it comes to FA and trading assets.

What did we gain by releasing him yesterday? We were already under the cap -- no reason to make a move until training camp, or even into the season. Someone gets hurt on a contender, and they might be willing to flip us a late round pick for either guy. No reason to make these moves now.

But what if Harris or Decker got hurt in OTAs or TC and then had to pay their whole salary? You make a valid argument, but I can see why they abruptly made this choice.

I said this during the draft Mac is clueless as a GM he has no clue how to run a draft or a team. He might be as bad as Idzik. This team is in full tank mode. The problem Mac is the wrobg guy to rebuild this franchise.

That's all well and good, except the fact that multiple teams will have interest in him, so if a teams is afraid he won't sign with them in FA, they will trade for him. People overreact to everything.

Also, I find the timing of the Decker announcement to be curious. Coming right after we release Harris. Makes me wonder if the request for trade or release may have come from Decker's camp.

I'm sure they weren't very high on the prospects of playing this year out with the Jets. Had Decker not been injured I think they would have tried moving him pre draft.

It also came right after he took the red jersey off.
