The only reason they won 9 games is because two of those were vs. the Jets. No need to apologize for winning games, but Buffalos 9-7 record (first in ten years! Yay!) hardly makes Marrone out to be some sort of super Jesus. when did 9-7 and missing the playoffs become an accomplishment? Riiight...but they also beat the Dolphins, the Lions, and two possible super bowl teams in the Patriots and Packers. Guess that slipped your mind huh?

The Jets beat the Dolphins and beating the Rats in week 17 when they have nothing to play for, no big deal. Good wins against Det and GB though. Were missed FGs a big part of the Det win? They had problems all year, but especially early.

That being said Marrone is not my #1 choice but if he was hired I would be fine with it.

Saw this in the Moron mega thread. Not sure what to make of it. Does this mean he is power hungry or does it emphasize the importance of a GM and HC being on the same page? Or maybe it is all getting blown out of proportion b.c I am pretty sure there are arguments in every war room. Bills did give up a lot to get him but Watkins did play up to expectations. It shows that he was the coach of a young, rebuilding team and thought is was ridiculous to give up a future 1st round pick for a WR. Everyone questioned that move from Buffalo No one denied that Watkins was a supremely talented player, but to give up that much for him in the deepest WR draft in over a decade, was stupid. It's not like Buffalo is Atlanta with a veteran, franchise QB in place and thinks that they're one piece away (Julio Jones) from potentially winning a Superbowl. On the money, UT. Way too much indeed. That had shades of Matt Millen about it.

Can't imagine they think this paints him in a good light. Well that depends on what story you choose to believe. Was there a severe discord between Marrone and the front office, or was he power hungry animal who feels that it's his way or the highway? Most reports outside outside of Manish suggest that the former is true and that the front office absolutely failed him. Hell, even Seth Walder, Manish's colleague wrote an article that is pretty pro Marrone. See I have a theory on how Manish operates. He thrives off of negativity. He gets his clicks by bashing every little thing this organization does. Everyone knew that Rex AND Idzik had to go and yet the little shit, up until the last hours of Rex, was saying that Woody should be smart and keep Ryan...that letting him go would be a mistake. Then the firings came, everyone was happy to move on and he had nothing negative to write about. Thennnnn comes Marrone opting out and making himself the hottest head coaching candidate on the market. The Jets quickly become the favorites to land him and Manish begins criticizing the move so that he can say "I told you so" should it not work out. It's 110% posturing on his part. I mean shit, he even wrote an article stating that the consulting process just turned "toxic and poisonous as Marrone opts out of Buffalo contract and". He doesn't suggest any alternatives, he doesnt concede to the idea that most of the GM candidates may actually PREFER Marrone over everyone else. He just keeps spewing this "inside source" bullshit he's been peddling since 2012. We could have hired Jim Harbaugh and the same article he just wrote about Marrone would have been written. If we hired Quinn, he would have blasted the team for hiring another defensive guy. The same would go for Bowles but he'd probably mention how Carolina went in and shredded his defense too. He's a fucking weasel who will do anything to generate clicks. I'm going to choose to believe guys like Mawae, Curtis Martin, and the respected guys blasting Mehtas credentials and integrity left and right over that shit stain on society. If guys like Ron Wolf and Charley Casserly feel that Marrone is the best candidate available and after interviewing all the candidates decide that hiring him is the best course of action, then who am I do disagree with that notion? Well written sir and totally true. But I think his inside source thing has been around longer than that. It's pathetic how bad this guy has become and why he even still has a job.

Not really...the Dolphins were much better in week 2 then week 17 where they simply gave up...but you can stick with your opinion on Maronne it's all good...I'll just take it from the established players (Mawae, Woody) , respected football people and non Manish writers who have nothing but good things to say about him.
